Job DescriptionJovian Concepts, LLC is looking to hire a Software Engineer Level 1 or Level 2 for a great opportunity in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.
A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a MD Polygraph required. No CCA's will be accepted at this time.
Primary Responsibilities:- Analyze user and system requirements to design,develop, test, and maintain Java and Angular applications.
- Design,develop, and support RESTful APIs, service integrations, and data accesscomponents for Oracle, PostgreSQL, and other relational databases.
- Supportapplication modernization initiatives, including Spring Boot migration,database modernization, microservices, and containerization.
- Deploy andsupport containerized applications in Kubernetes environments across cloudand on-premises infrastructure.
- Participatein architecture reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, technical design,and continuous process improvement.
- Developautomated unit and integration tests, support CI/CD pipelines, andmaintain technical documentation using Confluence and Jira.
- Providebackup database administration support for Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MariaDBwhile cross-training across application, database, and deploymenttechnologies to ensure operational continuity.

Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relatedtechnical discipline from an accredited college or university. Candidateswithout Bachelors degrees will require an additional 4 years of softwareengineering experience.
- For a SWE Level 1 a minimumof seven (7) years of software engineering experienceon programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity will be required.
- For a SWE Level 2 a minimumof fourteen (14) years of software engineering experienceon programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity will be required.
- SecurityClearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph, no CCAs will be accepted at this time.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience developing Java enterprise applicationsusing Spring Boot (or similar frameworks) and Angular (orcomparable front-end technologies).
- Experiencedesigning and implementing RESTful APIs and integratingapplications with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or other relationaldatabases.
- Experiencewith application modernization, including Spring Boot migrations,microservices, and database modernization initiatives.
- Experiencedeveloping, deploying, and supporting containerized applicationsusing Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes platforms(e.g., Rancher, Amazon EKS, OpenShift).
- Familiaritywith Kubernetes concepts including Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps,Secrets, Ingress, Persistent Volumes, Helm charts, and cloud-nativearchitectures.
- Experienceimplementing GitLab CI/CD pipelines, automated testing,DevSecOps practices, and modern software delivery processes.
- Experienceusing Jira and Confluence in Agileenvironments, providing database operational support, and working withXML, JSON, or other structured data formats.
