Your contributions will affect a massive fleet of switches powering both application and AI workloads
• Design, develop, validate, and deploy control-plane and dataplane software for network switches (Meta's network switch OS), for Meta's data center front-end, AI backend, and backbone networks
• Partner with switch ASIC and system vendors on SDK integration, new feature development and platform bring-up
• Engage with network-engineering, routing infrastructure, host networking, transport teams to align on goals, lead integration efforts, and drive continuous development
• Debug complex system-level issues and lead performance tuning exercises to optimize control-plane and dataplane performance
• Partner with network operations and deployment teams for fleet-wide rollouts and incident response
• Develop and automate test suites for the CI/CD framework and various components in collaboration with test infra teams
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years software development experience in industry settings or PhD with 4+ years of experience
• 3+ years relevant experience with network devices and products (routers, switches, adapters, load balancers) and an understanding of network routing protocols in industry settings
• Proficiency in C/C++ and at least one scripting language (Python/Shell Scripting)
• Experience with developing and automating test suites
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., hardware, operations, test infrastructure) to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with stream processing or time-series data pipelines for high-volume network telemetry
• Experience with the design and implementation of software for high-speed network processing (e.g., Layer 2, Layer 3, MPLS, SRv6, VxLAN, ACLs, QoS, RoCEv2, Mirroring, SAI)
• Experience with intent-based network management systems
• Experience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers) and an understanding of network routing protocols
• Experience with software-defined networking (SDN), network operating systems, or network device APIs such as OpenConfig or gNMI
