Full Job Description
About the Role

We also offer "cloud solutions engineering": we unblock teams across DoorDash with novel or complex cloud needs, from multi-cloud deployments and cross-cloud credential vending to multi-region sFTP. You will partner directly with teams across the company to take a need from an ambiguous request to production, and mature the most common ones into platform products that can be adopted widely.

This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, security, and developer experience. It includes designing, building, and operating systems that must be reliable, secure, easy-to-use, and cost-efficient.

You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Cloud Infrastructure team within the Infrastructure organization. This role is hybrid working from our New York City engineering hub.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will...
  • Design and build the foundational cloud platform (account vending, IAM, cloud networking primitives, quotas, infrastructure as code) that every engineering team at DoorDash builds on top of
  • Own the paved path for cloud at DoorDash: make the secure, cost-efficient way the easy way through self-service tooling
  • Partner with product and platform teams to unblock complex or novel cloud use-cases, and turn the recurring ones into platform products
  • Drive cloud-wide initiatives such as multi-cloud, unifying cloud foundations across DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt, cost efficiency, and security posture
  • Set technical direction for the team, mentor engineers, and influence cloud architecture decisions across the company
  • Find ways to improve the team's productivity and operational capabilities through the use of automation, AI tools, and other avenues
  • Participate in a shared support rotation
We're excited about you because...
  • You have 5+ years of experience as a software engineer in infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering
  • Deep, hands-on experience with AWS (IAM, Organizations, VPC, S3, ECR, etc.); GCP experience is a plus
  • Experience with cloud networking primitives like VPC, PrivateLink, Transit Gateway and VPC peering.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling like Terraform and GitOps workflows such as Atlantis or ArgoCD
  • Experience with programming languages like Go and Python
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Track record of taking ambiguous problems from customer teams to well-paved solutions that can be adopted across multiple teams
  • You are curious, independent, ambitious, and can find solutions and make progress in an ambiguous and challenging environment
  • You have proficiency in using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) in the full software development lifecycle, including designing, generating code, testing, monitoring and releasing software
Bonus points if you...
  • Have built an internal cloud platform, landing zones, or account vending at scale
  • Have multi-cloud experience, especially running workloads on GCP alongside AWS
  • Have experience with cloud cost management and vendor relationships
