Full Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and deliver software and firmware for ultra-high-performance datacenter-scale solutions. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment working in a small team of highly experienced engineers. Please note that this is an in-person position.
With our "One Person, One Project" development culture, you will own all aspects of a design, including ZephyrOS/OpenBMC firmware, microcode, device drivers, embedded Linux/Yocto builds, and/or upper-level control software. Our cradle-to-grave lifecycle approach means ownership does not end at product ship: you will assist with customer trials, address field issues, ensure product sustainability, and/or drive validation and automation. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of engineers working on forward-looking technologies with extensive interaction with partner engineering teams.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
• Datacenter & Architecture Experience: Background developing software in C++/C for large-scale, complex multi-processor architectures (x86, ARM), from low-level firmware up to rack management control software.
• OS & Firmware: Experience with Linux/Yocto, OpenBMC, and/or ZephyrOS.
• Bring-Up & Debug: Deep expertise in early-stage development, including silicon, chip, board, and full-system bring-up. Proven ability in driver development and low-level/silicon debugging.
• Hardware Interfaces & Buses: Hands-on experience writing software for low-level interfaces including I2C, PMBus, AVSbus, MDIO, PCIe, SPI, USB, and SERDES.
• Management & Telemetry Protocols: Strong knowledge of Redfish and DMTF standards including MCTP, PLDM, and SPDM.
• Security & Boot: Implementation of Secure Boot, u-boot, Secure Root of Trust (RoT), and familiarity with architectures like Calyptra.
• Networking: Solid baseline knowledge of datacenter networking, switching, and NIC architectures.
• Testing & Automation: Expertise with debugging tools, testing techniques, and driving system-level validation and automation.
• Lifecycle Ownership: Demonstrated lifecycle product ownership of complex products, participating in cross-functional teams from product inception to volume production.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work with support groups, including Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Compliance, Safety, and Sustainability.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of related experience.
