The TV Developer Lifecycle Team is responsible for creating a high-velocity developer ecosystem for writing, validating, and shipping high-quality TVUI code. The team empowers TV UI Engineers to build, test, & ship features with speed, quality, and confidence. From CI/CD to test infrastructure to monorepo toolchains to quality & test observability to monorepo AI infrastructure, this team shapes how hundreds of millions of members discover and enjoy entertainment on their biggest screen at home. If you're passionate about crafting elegant, high-performance software that reaches a massive global audience, this is where foundational engineering meets real-world impact at scale.
The Role
We're seeking a senior engineer to build and scale the test infrastructure behind the Netflix TVUI CI platform. You'll own the orchestration services, CLI tools, device fleets, and observability that power large-scale test execution across screenshot, end-to-end, performance, and on-device suites, as well as the operational health of those systems. This is a customer-centric, data-driven role. You'll instrument deeply, drive strategic investments in test infrastructure that mitigate risk across a diverse device ecosystem, and ensure steady progress in the areas where it matters most.
You:
Our team members excel when they are curious, growth-oriented, and collaborative. We take a customer-centric approach to our work, so listening, learning, and adapting are essential. We assume good intent and consistently seek to improve ourselves and our solutions. There are no absolutes, and we must remain flexible to meet the needs of our customers and the business, so “strong opinions loosely held” is a valued attribute within the team.
If this resonates with you, we’d love to talk!
Useful experience:
- Operating distributed test infrastructure at scale
- Test orchestration & execution pipelines (parallelization, sharding, predictive test selection)
- Experience with building test frameworks
- Test stability and flakiness mitigation
- Familiarity with UI Test Frameworks & Automation (Puppeteer, Playwright, Jest, Vitest)
- Experience scaling and tuning test performance across device pools
- CI/CD systems (Jenkins, BuildKite, GitHub Actions)
- Strong ownership of reliability and incident response for owned systems
- Optimizing runtime performance of test pipeline
- Agentic PR/CI workflows
- TypeScript/JavaScript

What Sets You Apart:
- You’re passionate about writing elegantly designed, maintainable, performant software.
- You enjoy pushing the boundaries of what technology can do and exploring uncharted waters.
- You love to empower other engineers and strive to understand their use cases.
- Colleagues appreciate the unique perspectives and balanced views you bring to collaborations.
- You value the perspective of others when identifying solutions.
- You know there is rarely one ‘right’ solution, and you make thoughtful trade-offs.
- You understand that our goal is to solve problems, and a language, framework, or library is a means to an end.
