Software Engineer 2

Description:

CTP is seeking an experienced Software Engineer 2 to support the development, enhancement, and integration of modern software capabilities within a FORNSAT environment. This role contributes across the full software engineering lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and integration.

The ideal candidate brings strong software development experience with modern web technologies, databases, Linux environments, virtual machines, containers, and RESTful services. You'll work in an environment that combines new software development with legacy system integration and support for existing capabilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the analysis, design, development, testing, and integration of software capabilities.
• Develop and enhance software capabilities supporting FORNSAT.
• Develop applications using technologies such as ReactJS, NodeJS, TypeScript, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB or similar databases.
• Develop and integrate RESTful services.
• Work across Linux, virtual machine, and containerized environments.
• Support new software development while integrating with legacy and existing capabilities.
• Contribute to software deployment and integration activities.
• Support development workflows utilizing modern DevOps practices and tooling.

Qualifications:

• 14+ years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; Four additional years of Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Experience with ReactJS, NodeJS, TypeScript, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB or similar databases.
• Strong experience navigating Linux, virtual machine, and container environments.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful services.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with DevOps and software deployment.
• Experience with GitLab pipelines.
• Experience integrating new development with legacy and existing capabilities.
