Full Job Description
Application deadline: Oct 20, 2026
Amazon's Data Center Bridge (DC Bridge) organization builds and operates the software that runs AWS's worldwide data centers. The DC Console team is hiring an experienced frontend-leaning full-stack engineer to build the platform that lets every builder in DC Bridge ship data center operator experiences - not just the team that owns the console.
InfraMap is the UI for AWS data center power and cooling: real-time and historical visualization from world level down to individual sensors, used by Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO), the Facility Operations Center (FOC), Field Engineering, Data Center Capacity Planning, and DCGS management to prevent and remediate Critical Site Events (CSEs) and Large Scale Events (LSEs). It has also become a bottleneck: every new page had to be built by one team, inside one monolith, on one deployment pipeline. DC Console exists to remove that constraint.
You should be a strong web engineer with real depth in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React, browser fundamentals, and high-volume real-time UX - and you should be genuinely interested in build systems, deployment, and the mechanics of how frontend code gets to a browser, because half of this role is platform engineering. You should have a background in the fundamentals of software development, deep understanding of best practices across languages and technologies, and take personal pride in interfaces that operators trust during an incident.
Key job responsibilities
- Build the platform that lets engineering teams across the organization ship features into a shared operator console - independent packages, independent pipelines, composed into one product at runtime.
- Own the console shell: navigation, routing, page registration, and the shared services that feature teams build against so no team reimplements the same plumbing.
- Solve the cross-origin problems a federated frontend creates - authenticated module loading, edge authentication, content security policy, per-stage isolation, and graceful fallback when the module registry is unreachable.
- Deliver self-service onboarding: a template that gives a partner team a working module, account, CDN, and pipeline in one step, and support for teams that bring their own backend.
- Give each feature team visibility into its own module - health metrics, alarms, paging, and user reports - without them having to own the shell.
- Move existing pages out of the monolith as reference implementations, behind feature flags so any rollout can be reversed.
- Build and maintain real-time visualizations of power and cooling data that operators rely on during site events.
- Support the teams you onboard: office hours, design reviews, and security reviews that keep a federated frontend from fragmenting into ten different products.
A day in the life
You will write React and TypeScript against Cloudscape, and you will also write CDK, argue about version sets and pipeline self-mutation permissions, and debug why a module loads in alpha and 403s in beta. Development runs on personal stacks - a Midway-authed copy of the whole shell per engineer, aps deploy / aps hotswap against a shared CDN. The team leans hard on AI tooling (an in-house MFE agent package plus AWT and Cloudscape MCP servers) and expects you to extend it, not just use it.
About the team
DC Console is a small team inside DC Bridge, branched from InfraMap, with a charter that is deliberately platform-shaped: let builders across the organization manage, deploy, and create features hosted on InfraMap and DC Console independently of InfraMap core operations. We inherit InfraMap's tenets - security over user experience, user experience over speed to production, we visualize data rather than create it and always provide provenance back to the source, and we build global capabilities rather than one-off single-site solutions.
