Space Ground System Solutions has an immediate full-time opening for a software engineer. The position will be responsible for development of software for satellite command, control and telemetry monitoring.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop front-end and back-end software for web applications in a Linux RHEL environment
- Experience with golang/c++
- Knowledge of build systems.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes.
- Participate in UI design for web applications
- Perform System and Software level Integration and Test
- Design and implement software for a large-scale command and control system
- Create and execute integration and system tests and document test procedures
- Troubleshoot software system issues
- Work in a dynamic, fast paced, & sometimes pressured environment
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS- Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (i.e., Computer Science, Software Engineer, Information Technology)
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of software engineering/development experience in a Linux environment
- Good understanding of distributed systems.
- Experience developing Web applications, Golang applications or Python applications.
- Basic understanding of build systems and containerization
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS- Proficiency developing and testing software in a Linux environment
- Experience documenting test results for corrective actions
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Desire to work in the space industry developing satellite command and control systems for test and operations
- Experience using software configuration management tools (examples: ClearCase, GIT, Mercurial, etc.)
- Experience interacting with databases (examples: Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, etc.)
- EXPERIENCE WRITING SCRIPTS (EXAMPLES: SHELL SCRIPTING, PERL, ETC.)
