Full Job Description
COMSOL, Inc. is seeking software developers to join its Numerical Analysis group in the Burlington, MA office. You will work on the Optimization Module, an add-on product to COMSOL Multiphysics® that includes a suite of gradient-based and gradient-free optimization solvers. A core technology of COMSOL Multiphysics is the symbolic differentiation of partial differential equations, which provides significant flexibility in defining and solving optimization problems. In particular, this technology enables users to define custom objective functions and efficiently compute the derivatives required by gradient-based optimization methods. As part of the Numerical Analysis group, you will contribute to the analysis and specification of new numerical methods and functionality, their implementation in C++ and Java, testing, and documentation.
Your Profile
You are passionate about solving challenging problems and motivated to go above and beyond in your work. You are flexible, value teamwork, and understand the importance of putting the user at the center. You are comfortable working with an existing codebase, understanding how it works, and taking ownership of its development.
