Position Description:

As a Mid-Level Software Developer, you'll take ownership of features from design through delivery, working with architects, engineers, QA professionals, and stakeholders to build and support software that elevates IT services. You'll help shape technical approaches, strengthen team practices, and deliver practical solutions in a changing environment.

This role can be performed from any CGI office in the U.S.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain production software using Angular, TypeScript, Java, and related frameworks
• Build and integrate Java and Spring Boot services and RESTful APIs, and develop database-connected solutions using SQL and relational database technologies
• Translate business and technical requirements into estimates, design approaches, and maintainable implementations, making sound technical tradeoffs when requirements are ambiguous
• Own features through development, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support while considering security, performance, logging, and operational reliability
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and user interface tests; participate in peer code reviews and continuously improve code quality and engineering practices
• Use Codex and other AI-assisted development tools responsibly for coding, refactoring, test generation, documentation, troubleshooting, research, and proofs of concept while validating outputs against project standards and security requirements
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA professionals, and cross-functional teammates in an Agile environment; contribute to technical discussions and provide guidance to less experienced developers

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience, including the delivery and support of enterprise applications
• Professional experience with Angular and TypeScript, plus Java and Spring Boot or a comparable Java framework
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, working with SQL and relational databases, and using Git in a team environment
• Experience with automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD practices, and secure coding principles
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage assigned development responsibilities
• Ability to communicate clearly, diagnose complex problems, and explain technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to less experienced developers
• Ability to work in the U.S. permanently and without restriction

Desired qualifications / Strongly Preferred
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized application development
• Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native development practices
• Exposure to microservices and messaging technologies
• Familiarity with application monitoring, logging, observability, and other modern enterprise technologies

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 $156,700.00.
