ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Software Developer to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico. This role is anticipated to be short-term (~12 months) with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities
  • Work on several applications simultaneously in a highly agile development environment.
  • Maintain compliance with the laboratory's high-security requirements.
  • Resolve a wide range of complex technical issues using creative problem-solving.
  • Analyze complex data and develop effective technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Work independently with limited supervision and manage assigned work.
  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule work to accomplish objectives.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques to solve technical problems.
  • Provide limited technical direction or coordinate the work of other team members.
  • Complete work that is evaluated upon completion rather than through continuous oversight.

Requirements
  • Education & Years of Experience - Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
  • Clearance - To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
  • Highly motivated individual who performs well under pressure.
  • Ability to multitask and manage several applications/projects simultaneously.

  • Seasoned IT professional with a full understanding of a specialized IT discipline and working knowledge of related IT fields.

About the Site

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov).
