Software Architect

Location: United States - Remote - Eastern/Central Time Zones
Reports To: SVP, Engineering & Innovation

Overview

Raintree is at a pivotal point in its journey, transforming from a legacy application suite into a cutting-edge, AI-first, enterprise-grade platform. We are seeking a pragmatic and high-impact Software Architect to lead this massive architectural evolution. In this fast-paced, mission-critical role, you will navigate the complexities of large-scale legacy modernization while driving the adoption of next-generation distributed systems and data synchronization strategies. If you have deep expertise in platform evolution and thrive on bridging the gap between intricate technical challenges and scalable enterprise solutions, we want you to shape the future of our ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide architecture leadership for initiatives in collaboration with product management & engineering leads
  • Architect IQ platform to help accelerate developer velocity, maintainability, lower operating costs, enhanced security, increased performance and scalability.
  • Work closely with leaders across Architecture, Engineering Ops, Cloud Infrastructure, and Security to ensure solutions meet business, technical, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead automation and engineeringinitiatives to operationalize and streamline enterprise readiness of the Platform.
  • Design robust data sync mechanisms: Define data synchronization, replication, and consistency models across multi-tenant, distributed, and hybrid environments.
  • Technical leadership: Provide execution strategy, code reviews, and mentorship to engineering teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Assist & Enable Raintree development team's move to Agentic AI-based Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).
  • Operate with urgency: Drive results in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment where speed and quality must co-exist.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a Principal Engineer or Architect role.
  • Proven success in platform evolution and re-architecting monolithic applications into cloud-native microservices architectures.
  • Well versed in Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) in a modern enterprise environment
  • Technical depth AWS platform in Serverless, GraphQL & RESTful APIs, eventing & messaging architecture, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Experience designing and implementing data synchronization and replication strategies across distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance long-term architectural goals with short-term product delivery needs.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrably passionate about quality, data-driven, execution-minded & oriented towards outcomes rather than output.
  • Nice to have: Strong understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, CCD, EDI, etc.) and integration/interoperability frameworks.
