Social Media Manager, CEO Personal Brand

This is a hybrid role based in San Diego, CA with mandatory in-office time each week. We welcome candidates located outside of San Diego who are open to relocation. The right candidate may have the flexibility to start remotely with an agreed-upon relocation timeline and relocation support available.

Overview

We9re looking for a Social Media Manager, CEO Personal Brand to grow the social presence of STN Digital and our CEO, David Brickley. This is an in-house marketing role, focused on building our own brand rather than managing external client accounts.

Approximately 60% of the role will focus on our CEO9s social presence and 40% on STN9s owned channels, with both working together to strengthen STN9s visibility and reputation.

We9re looking for someone who lives and breathes social content, sports, entertainment, business, and internet culture. Someone who hears an interesting conversation, spots an emerging trend, or experiences a moment and immediately recognizes the opportunity to turn it into compelling content.

You9ll develop ideas, capture content, edit video, write copy, publish, and analyze performance. You9ll work closely with leadership, have opportunities to travel, and bring your own creative perspective to the work.

This role requires someone who can think strategically while remaining deeply hands-on. Someone with strong creative instincts, excellent judgment, and the ability to move quickly from idea to execution.

The Role

The Social Media Manager, CEO Personal Brand will serve as a trusted executive content partner while owning STN Digital9s day-to-day social content execution.

You9ll work closely with our CEO to understand his voice, interests, expertise, and perspective, turning conversations, industry insights, travel, and everyday moments into authentic, platform-native content.

For STN, you9ll translate Marketing priorities into social-first storytelling that reaches the sports and entertainment leaders we want to connect with. You9ll own the content calendar and day-to-day execution, partnering with Creative when concepts call for more elevated production.

Success requires someone who anticipates opportunities, moves independently, and continuously improves the work based on audience behavior and performance.

What You9ll Do

Serve as a Trusted Executive Content Partner

1. Build a close working relationship with STN9s CEO, developing a deep understanding of his voice, interests, expertise, and audience.
2. Proactively identify content opportunities from conversations, meetings, travel, speaking engagements, industry developments, and everyday moments.
3. Develop and pitch compelling social-first concepts that authentically reflect the CEO9s personality and point of view.
4. Capture, edit, write, and publish content across priority executive social channels.
5. Establish a consistent content cadence and manage calendars, assets, approvals, and publishing workflows.
6. Transform podcasts, interviews, speaking engagements, and business insights into engaging social content.
7. Travel as needed to support executive content capture, conferences, and industry events.
8. Analyze performance and recommend new formats, topics, and creative approaches to strengthen executive thought leadership.

Own STN9s Social Engine

1. Translate STN9s Marketing strategy into compelling social content that builds awareness and engagement with our ideal customer profile.
2. Own STN9s social calendars, ideation, copywriting, publishing, community management, and day-to-day execution.
3. Create content tailored to each platform, with an initial focus on LinkedIn, Instagram & TikTok.
4. Develop creative concepts that showcase STN9s work, people, expertise, culture, and perspective on the industry.
5. Capture and produce social-first content using mobile devices, CapCut, Photoshop, and other creative tools.
6. Partner with Marketing, Social, and Creative teams to bring larger content opportunities to life.
7. Maintain a consistent publishing cadence while ensuring content reflects STN9s brand voice and creative standards.
8. Monitor content performance and audience engagement to continuously improve strategy and execution.

Turn Moments into Content

1. Stay immersed in sports, entertainment, marketing, entrepreneurship, business, and internet culture to identify relevant conversations and opportunities.
2. Recognize compelling content opportunities without waiting for a formal brief.
3. Move quickly to capture and publish timely, culturally relevant content.
4. Lead content capture sessions, confidently directing executives, employees, and other on-camera talent.
5. Identify authentic, unscripted moments that can become compelling social storytelling.
6. Understand when content should be captured and produced quickly versus when an idea warrants more elevated creative execution.
7. Bring proactive recommendations to Leadership and Marketing based on emerging trends, cultural conversations, and content performance.
8. Continuously test new formats, storytelling approaches, and platform-native creative techniques.
