Site Operations Engineer, Bay Area

$90,000 - $120,000 + 0.05% - 0.15%

Role

Following the rapid expansion of our Scan On Demand operations in Boston, MA, we are establishing a Bay Area facility to continue serving our growing customer base. Reporting to Glimpse's Head of Operations, your areas of responsibility will include:

In the early days:
  • Facility setup: Coordinate with freight shippers, riggers, and vendors to install an industrial X-ray CT scanner at the facility.
  • Shipping training: Complete the DOT and IATA trainings required to ship and receive lithium-ion cells.
  • Radiation training: Complete the training required to become the facility's Radiation Safety Officer.
  • CT Scanning: Following the Boston facility's protocols, learn how to smoothly operate the CT scanner and process CT scans to the Glimpse Portal.

Over time:
  • Knowledge expansion: Grow more comfortable operating the CT scanner, developing new recipes, and making new fixtures. Understand the Glimpse Portal frontend and backend and utilize all tools as needed.
  • Own the facility's production operations: Manage all inbound and outbound orders, develop new CT scan recipes as needed, meet all order deadlines, hit revenue targets, and communicate with customers when appropriate.
  • Maintain operational efficiency: Track scanner utilization, identify areas for improved output, and minimize CT scanner downtime.
  • Manage site growth and resources: Own the facility's growth targets and schedule, determine when to grow the team, and lead the hiring process for a CT technician
  • Adapt and scale processes: Starting from Boston's existing practices, build a set of production and safety protocols, and direct how the site operates day-to-day.

You have:

  • Experience establishing lab and/or production operations.
  • Experience operating any type of machinery with associated safety protocols
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects with differing timelines
  • Excellent time management and prioritization
  • High attention to detail
  • 3+ years of professional work experience
  • US citizenship or a green card
Nice-to-have:
  • Familiarity with X-ray and/or CT scanning
  • Familiarity with HazMat shipping regulations for Ground and/or Air
  • Familiarity with facilities management and logistics


Location

This role is in-office, five days a week at Glimpse's Bay Area, CA facility.
