SITE MANAGER

Do you like being where the action is, leading field teams and seeing a project come together on site? PHS Canada is looking for a Site Manager to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality execution of HVAC controls and automation projects in critical environments such as data centres, laboratories and pharmaceutical facilities.

As PHS Canada's primary representative on site, you will play a key role in coordinating field teams, project management, general contractors, subcontractors and clients.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Lead and coordinate field teams on a daily basis, including automation technicians, electricians, cabling teams and specialized subcontractors.
  • Plan work, resources, site access, materials and priorities to keep projects moving and on schedule.
  • Prepare and maintain a three-week look-ahead work schedule.
  • Verify the quality and compliance of installations against approved drawings, technical specifications, control sequences and PHS Canada standards.
  • Track daily progress, identify delays or obstacles and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health and safety requirements, including PPE, LOTO procedures, working at heights, confined spaces and site-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment and subcontractor activities to prevent work interruptions.
  • Participate in site coordination meetings and maintain clear, proactive communication with project stakeholders.
  • Prepare required progress reports and quickly communicate risks, resource needs, constraints and issues that could affect project execution.
  • Resolve unexpected field and technical issues by bringing in the right resources while maintaining a safe, collaborative and performance-focused work environment.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Diploma or degree in building mechanics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial automation or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in automation, industrial controls, instrumentation or Building Automation Systems (BAS), including demonstrated site coordination, supervision or technical leadership experience.
  • Experience in either industrial controls/PLC or building automation/DDC environments. Experience across both is a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of control and automation systems, including control architecture, I/O, instrumentation, wiring, sensors/actuators, HVAC equipment integration and commissioning principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret control sequences, I/O lists, P&IDs, electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Practical knowledge of control networks and protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
  • Experience with platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Studio 5000, Emerson DeltaV, Tridium Niagara 4 or comparable technologies is an asset.
  • Strong field leadership skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in demanding environments.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and priority-management skills.
  • Full professional proficiency in French; functional English is a strong asset for projects in Ontario and with English-speaking clients.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety and the ability to enforce site standards.

WORK LOCATION: Brampton, Ontario

Full-time position. Travel is primarily within the GTA, with occasional travel elsewhere in Canada. Schedule flexibility is required based on project and site needs.
