Summary:

We are looking for a Mission Relevant Terrain – Cyber (MRT-C) Site Lead in the Colorado Springs, CO area.

The MRT-C Site Lead is responsible for the leadership, development, and day-to-day execution of a large multidisciplinary team supporting high-priority U.S. Space Force missions. This position requires a proven leader who can establish clear priorities, develop personnel, build accountability, communicate effectively across a diverse technical workforce, and maintain a positive team environment while ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality MRT-C products.

 

The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership with sufficient MRT-C space, Mission Assurance, and cybersecurity experience to provide technical direction, engage effectively with Government stakeholders, and ensure the team remains aligned with mission and contract requirements.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Lead, develop, and provide day-to-day direction for a large, multidisciplinary team of technical personnel supporting MRT-C activities.
• Establish clear priorities, roles, responsibilities, performance expectations, and standards across the team.
• Build and maintain a professional team culture focused on mission accomplishment, collaboration, accountability, communication, and employee development.
• Mentor team leads and analysts, identify professional development opportunities, and actively support employee growth and retention.
• Delegate responsibilities effectively and develop subordinate leaders to ensure execution and institutional knowledge are not dependent on individual personnel.
• Identify and resolve personnel, workload, communication, and performance issues before they negatively affect contract execution or customer relationships.
• Ensure schedules, priorities, decisions, processes, and other critical program information are effectively communicated across the workforce.
• Establish and maintain repeatable processes that support consistent execution, quality, knowledge management, and continued program growth.
• Coordinate closely with program management and Government stakeholders to ensure team activities remain aligned with contract requirements, mission priorities, schedules, and customer expectations.
• Provide responsive and professional communication to Government stakeholders and company leadership regarding program execution, risks, resource requirements, and emerging issues.
• Lead USSF MRT-C analysis of priority space missions and assets and support follow-on defensive cyber activities.
• Provide direction on mission analysis support to identify cyber dependencies, vulnerabilities, mission impacts, and mission cyber defense sensor strategies.
• Guide mission-related cyberspace and network activities to support mission success across command and control processes, operational processes, and dependent space mission systems.
• Ensure that identification of critical cyberspace terrain and their assessed risks support development of appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Provide strategic guidance on the development of mission thread data supporting USSF mission owners, cybersecurity personnel, defensive cyber operators, and program offices in assessing mission risks resulting from cybersecurity deficiencies.
• Oversee development and delivery of Operational Risk Assessments (ORAs), Asset Defense Plans (ADPs), and other required MRT-C products.
• Analyze MRT-C results against mission-system vulnerabilities and cyber threats to identify Key Terrain – Cyber for USSF missions.
• Ensure mission analysis products consistently meet established quality standards and accurately support customer requirements.
• Ensure required mission data is accurately entered and maintained within the Mission Assurance Decision Support System (MADSS) and other designated repositories.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and develop large, highly technical teams in a DoD or similarly complex mission environment.
• Strong leadership judgment and the ability to balance mission requirements, customer expectations, workforce needs, schedules, and contract priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to delegate responsibilities, develop leaders, and establish accountability throughout an organization.
• Ability to mentor personnel, provide constructive feedback, address performance issues, and support professional development.
• Ability to build effective teams and maintain morale during periods of organizational growth, changing priorities, and evolving mission requirements.
• Strong customer-facing skills and the ability to represent the program professionally with senior Government and company stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate priorities, decisions, expectations, and complex technical information clearly.
• Strong organizational, time-management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop repeatable processes, improve organizational effectiveness, and manage organizational change.
• Ability to differentiate between critical and non-critical space systems, networks, and mission dependencies and determine their impact on mission execution.
• Knowledge of system and network assessment methodologies and the ability to identify deviations from acceptable configurations, enclave policies, or local policies.
• Ability to solve complex problems involving a wide variety of information systems, mission systems, networks, and operational dependencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting USSF mission capabilities, MRT-C identification, Mission Assurance, defensive cyber capabilities, or closely related mission-analysis activities.
• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience managing technical personnel, including responsibility for team performance, personnel development, workload management, and customer delivery.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams. Experience leading organizations of 20 or more personnel is strongly preferred.
• Must have CISSP OR Security+ and meet one of the following qualifications: GICSP or GCED or PenTest+ or GSEC OR a B.S. degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or Center for Academic Excellence designated institution.
• TS/SCI Required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous leadership experience supporting teams of 20+ personnel in a DoD operational or cybersecurity environment.
• Experience with Functional Mission Analysis – Cyber (FMA-C).
• Experience conducting or leading MRT-C assessments.
• Experience with U.S. Space Force missions, capabilities, organizations, and associated mission systems.
• Experience managing geographically dispersed or traveling assessment teams.
• Experience developing and implementing technical training, onboarding, mentorship, or workforce development programs.
• Experience interfacing directly with senior Government customers and mission owners.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Project Management Professional certification
• Extensive knowledge of Mission Assurance disciplines, including risk management, mission mapping, vulnerability assessments, and defensive cyber capabilities.
• Detailed understanding of mission analysis techniques, FMA-C methodologies, mission dependencies, and MRT-C concepts.

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 annually.
