As a Signal Processing Software Engineer, you'll work alongside talented engineers, scientists, and researchers worldwide to develop innovative measurement algorithms, create industry-leading software capabilities, and help customers gain deeper insight into the performance of cutting-edge electronic and photonic systems.
ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll DoAs part of a global, multidisciplinary engineering team, you will:
- Design, develop, and optimize advanced signal processing algorithms for electrical and optical communication measurements.
- Invent and implement innovative measurement techniques that characterize signal quality, impairments, and system performance.
- Develop calibration, correction, and compensation algorithms that improve measurement accuracy, repeatability, and instrument performance.
- Create customer-facing software features that simplify complex measurement workflows and improve user experience.
- Build automated test frameworks and validation tools to assess algorithm performance and measurement integrity.
- Analyze large waveform datasets and translate measurement results into actionable engineering insights.
- Collaborate across software, hardware, firmware, and system engineering teams to bring new products from concept to market.
- Document, present, and share technical innovations across global engineering teams.
- Support customer success by presenting technical solutions and occasionally collaborating directly with customers on advanced measurement challenges.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging communications and signal processing technologies through continuous learning and innovation.
QualificationsWe're Looking ForMinimum Qualifications- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong foundation in mathematical analysis, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), and algorithm development.
- Substantial evidence of high-quality code development with competence in code generation both with and without AI code gen assistance
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest in both software development and hands-on laboratory experimentation.
- Ability to learn new technologies, tools, and engineering domains quickly.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
- Development of signal processing algorithms for communication systems, instrumentation, or measurement applications.
- Significant programming experience in: C++, or C# with knowledge of one or more of MATLAB, Python, .NET Framework
- Software development using Visual Studio and Azure DevOps environments.
- High-speed digital communications and modulation techniques.
- Oscilloscope, optical test, RF, or electronic measurement systems.
- End-to-end software feature development, including design, implementation, verification, and release.
- Automated testing, software quality methodologies, and validation frameworks.
Technical Expertise in Areas Such As- FFT and spectral analysis
- Digital filtering
- Sampling theory and interpolation
- Equalization techniques (FFE / DFE)
- MLSE and advanced communication algorithms
- Optical and high-speed serial communications
- Measurement science and instrument calibration
What Will Make You Stand Out- Experience developing customer-facing measurement software.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, optical measurement equipment, or communications test systems.
- A passion for translating complex mathematical concepts into practical engineering solutions.
- Demonstrated innovation through research projects, advanced coursework, internships, patents, publications, or commercial product development.
