SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

SHEQ Specialist for heavy lift and transport operations

Working at Rosharon, TX

The SHEQ Specialist plays a key role in developing, implementing and continuously improving the company's Safety, Health, Environment and Quality management systems across the U.S. organization.

This position is responsible for supporting the governance of SHEQ programs, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, client requirements and regulatory obligations, while driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business. The SHEQ Specialist works closely with SHEQ Advisors, Operations leadership and project teams to translate business needs into effective SHEQ processes, systems and standards.

Unlike field-focused advisory roles, the SHEQ Specialist serves as the subject-matter expert for management systems, auditing, reporting, risk management, and SHEQ process optimization. This role provides technical leadership on SHEQ initiatives and supports strategic projects that enhance operational performance and organizational compliance.

Travel Requirement: Up to 30%

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Supporting the implementation, governance and continuous improvement of Mammoet's SHEQ Management System
  • Developing and optimizing SHEQ standards, procedures and business processes in line with operational and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinating SHEQ improvement projects and corporate initiatives across the U.S. business
  • Conducting internal audits and supporting external certification and client audits
  • Analyzing SHEQ performance data, identifying trends and preparing reports for leadership review
  • Supporting risk management activities, including risk assessments, corrective actions and control effectiveness reviews
  • Leading or supporting incident investigations, root cause analyses and improvement initiatives
  • Providing technical SHEQ expertise and guidance to operational teams and SHEQ Advisors
  • Supporting compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 management system requirements
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of SHEQ training and awareness programs

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant SHEQ experience in heavy industry, construction, transportation, logistics, energy, mining or similar sectors
  • Expert knowledge of SHEQ regulations, management systems and industry best practices
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards
  • Experience implementing and improving management systems, processes and procedures
  • Professional experience conducting audits, investigations and compliance assessments
  • Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement and change management initiatives
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build collaborative relationships across all organizational levels
