Columbus, OH.Responsibilities As a Contracts Manager, the selected individual will draft, negotiate, and administer contractual agreements while serving as a strategic partner to internal clients and a resource for junior contracting staff. Responsibilities may include:
- Drafting, developing, negotiating, and administering contractual agreements for assigned programs, while serving as the primary client interface during negotiations and contract management
- Analyzing requests for proposals from general policy, business, financial, contractual, and risk perspectives; significantly contributing to and potentially leading the development of proposal and/or contracting strategy
- Analyzing contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Battelle policies
- Coordinating proposal issues requiring cross-functional expertise, proposing solutions to problems encountered in negotiations, and assisting in resolving issues that may arise during contract performance
- Assisting in the development of business strategies in partnership with internal clients
- Ensuring all required proposal reviews, concurrences, and approvals are obtained prior to submission to a client
- Reviewing proposal and contracting data entered into company systems for completeness and accuracy
- Responding to unusual or potential business and contractual performance problems in conjunction with other business support staff and making recommendations for corrective action
- Assisting in contract closeouts, including document closeout, management, and development of reports for department and internal client review
- Supporting and potentially leading cross-functional process improvement initiatives
- Assisting in the identification, development, and implementation of new contract policies and processes
- Mentoring, training, and supporting the development of junior contracting staff
Key Qualifications - Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
- Detailed knowledge of IDIQ, CPAF, CPFF, FFP, T&M, and LOE contract types, and/or experience in international contracting, joint venture formation, strategic partnering, or other complex contractual arrangements
- Ability to draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual instruments
- Excellent working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), CPSR, and/or Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) procedures and transactions, including demonstrated experience in their interpretation and application
- Excellent knowledge of contracting concepts, applicable public contract acquisition law and regulations, and applicable international contract law
- Excellent understanding of corporate policies and procedures, coupled with the ability to identify and interpret those procedures for others

Compensation Data Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $81,600 - $116,300 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location and market conditions.
