Pay: $75,000 - $90,000 per year
Position SummaryAs the
Shared Living Senior Area Director, you will serve as a key operational leader overseeing program quality, regulatory compliance, financial outcomes, and personnel across designated regions in Colorado. Reporting directly to the National Director of Shared Living, you will provide executive-level guidance to Area Directors, support contractor network growth, and drive organizational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Operational & Regional Leadership: Oversee daily operations, program expansion, and team performance across multiple geographic areas with a high degree of independence.
- Mentorship & Team Coaching: Provide direct guidance, onboarding, and ongoing professional development to Area Directors and Support Services Specialists.
- Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure full adherence to state regulations, waiver requirements, and Vista Care standards. Lead corrective action plans for internal and external surveys.
- Contractor & Physical Site Oversight: Audit Independent Contractor (Host Home) settings and company properties to ensure physical safety, regulatory adherence, and risk mitigation.
- Financial & Growth Management: Interpret financial data, manage budgets, analyze trends, and drive program expansion through provider recruitment, retention, and community outreach.
- On-Call & Emergency Response: Participate in the leadership on-call rotation to provide guidance for complex operational, staffing, or safety matters.
Qualifications & Requirements- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated background in management and team leadership required.
- Industry Experience: 5-7 years in human services preferred, with at least 2 years in Shared Living / IDD residential services strongly preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Colorado IDD/HCBS regulations, waiver requirements, and licensing standards.
- Licensure & Driving: Valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, active auto insurance, and willingness to travel regionally (transporting participants when required).
- Certifications: CPR certification preferred (must obtain required state certifications upon hire).
Work Environment & Physical Demands- Setting: Hybrid role combining office, remote work, home visits, and community outreach.
- Schedule: Variable hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require, along with on-call duties.
- Interactions: Regular interaction with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, requiring patience, strong communication, and conflict resolution skills.
