Your Impact

The Services Environmental & Safety Manager leads the day-to-day execution of environmental and safety compliance programs supporting the Lowe's Services business and the Independent PROvider network. Reporting to the Services Environmental & Safety Program Director, this role translates environmental compliance strategy, regulatory requirements, and program expectations into consistent team execution, business processes, training, field practices, and corrective actions.

This position directly leads a team of Quality Support Specialists who review environmental compliance documentation, conduct audits, support assigned territories, and serve as subject-matter experts for Lowe's associates and Independent Providers. The Manager establishes team priorities, monitors performance and capacity, coaches and develops associates, and provides advanced technical direction on complex compliance matters.

A primary focus of the role is compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule, applicable consent decree obligations, and authorized state, district, and tribal lead programs. The Manager will also provide leadership and technical guidance on asbestos, silica, mold, and other environmental or occupational hazards associated with single-family, multifamily, and commercial construction, remodeling, and installation services.

The Services Environmental & Safety Manager will work cross-functionally with Lowe's stores, field leadership, corporate partners, Independent PROviders, customers, government entities, and other external stakeholders to identify risk, strengthen execution, and implement sustainable improvements. Success in this role requires deep technical credibility, prior people-leadership experience, strong professional judgment, a collaborative servant-leadership approach, and the ability to influence meaningful cultural and operational change.

What You Will Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Support Specialists responsible for environmental compliance reviews, audits, territory support, and issue resolution.
  • Establish team priorities, performance expectations, workload assignments, and standards for accuracy, consistency, and timely execution.
  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert on the EPA Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule, applicable consent decree requirements, and related federal, state, district, tribal, and local regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance on lead-based paint, asbestos, silica, mold, and other environmental hazards associated with single-family, multifamily, commercial construction, remodeling, and installation services.
  • Oversee environmental compliance audits and documentation reviews to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and Lowe's policies and procedures.
  • Analyze audit findings, data, field observations, and stakeholder feedback to identify risks, trends, root causes, and execution gaps.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions and sustainable improvements involving people, processes, systems, training, documentation, and field practices.
  • Review and recommend updates to environmental and safety policies, procedures, tools, training, and operating standards.
  • Partner with Stores, Field Leadership, Services, Legal, Compliance, Safety, Learning and Development, Technology, and Independent PROviders to strengthen compliance execution.
  • Conduct store, jobsite, provider, and field visits to assess practices, investigate concerns, provide coaching, and support issue resolution.
  • Communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly, practically, and in an actionable manner to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Provide compliance updates, findings, recommendations, and emerging risks to the Services Environmental & Safety Program Director and other key stakeholders.
  • Help build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and environmental responsibility across the Lowe's Services business.
  • Support professional conferences, regulatory meetings, training events, and other business travel based on program needs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and 10 years of relevant experience in environmental or regulatory compliance, construction, home improvement, remodeling, installation services, or occupational safety; or a bachelor's degree in a related field and equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule and lead-safe work practices.
  • Previous experience directly leading, coaching, and developing employees.
  • Experience interpreting environmental regulations and leading compliance audits, documentation reviews, field inspections, or corrective actions.
  • Working knowledge of environmental hazards associated with residential construction and remodeling, including lead-based paint, asbestos, silica, and mold.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational safety, construction management, engineering, industrial hygiene, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • EPA Certified Renovator certification.
  • Lead inspector and/or risk assessor certification through the EPA or an authorized state, district, or tribal program.
  • Professional certification or training related to asbestos, mold, or silica.
