Position Description:

CGI is seeking a ServiceNow Discovery Developer to develop, customize, and support ServiceNow Discovery capabilities within a large enterprise environment. The role will focus on identifying infrastructure, servers, network technologies, and cloud resources and ensuring accurate configuration data is populated into the CMDB.

The developer will build and customize ServiceNow Discovery patterns, configure Service Graph Connectors and other data ingestion mechanisms, troubleshoot Discovery and CMDB data quality issues, and validate configuration items and relationships. The position works closely with ServiceNow, infrastructure, network, server, cloud, IT asset management, and operations teams.

This is a hands on ServiceNow development and configuration role requiring candidates who can customize Discovery beyond standard out of the box implementations and troubleshoot complex identification, connectivity, connector, and data ingestion issues.

This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Birmingham, AL or Columbia, SC

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Develop and customize ServiceNow Discovery patterns.
. Configure and support Service Graph Connectors and other CMDB ingestion mechanisms.
. Discover and onboard on premises infrastructure, servers, network technologies, and related enterprise resources.
. Troubleshoot Discovery failures, incomplete identification, pattern errors, connector issues, and connectivity problems.
. Investigate duplicate, inaccurate, or incomplete configuration items.
. Validate discovered configuration items and improve CMDB data quality and accuracy.
. Support hardware and software asset data and related IT asset management processes.
. Customize ServiceNow functionality to meet organizational requirements rather than relying solely on out of the box capabilities.
. Work with infrastructure, network, server, cloud, asset management, and operations teams to resolve Discovery issues.
. Use AI assisted development tools appropriately to accelerate development and troubleshooting.
. Support the operational stability of the ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB environment.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 5+ years of ServiceNow development experience, including hands on Discovery and CMDB work.
. Strong hands on ServiceNow Discovery experience.
. Experience developing and customizing Discovery patterns, not simply configuring out of the box Discovery.
. Strong understanding of ServiceNow CMDB, configuration items, relationships, and data quality.
. Experience with Service Graph Connectors or comparable CMDB data ingestion methods.
. Experience onboarding infrastructure and technology data into the CMDB through multiple ingestion approaches.
. Understanding of server, network, hardware, software, and infrastructure discovery.
. Ability to troubleshoot Discovery failures, pattern errors, identification issues, credential/connectivity problems, and connector failures.
. Experience identifying and resolving duplicate or inaccurate configuration items and other CMDB data quality issues.
. Ability to customize ServiceNow functionality based on enterprise requirements.
. Strong analytical troubleshooting and attention to detail.
. Ability to work effectively across infrastructure, network, server, cloud, asset management, and operations teams.
. Familiarity with AI assisted development tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or comparable technologies.

Desired Skillset:
Preferred: Python scripting/development, AWS or broader cloud discovery experience, and IT asset management experience.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $95,700.00 $123,800.00.
