Mid-Level ServiceNow Developer to join our team supporting federal government clients. This role is ideal for a ServiceNow professional with solid hands-on development and configuration experience who is looking to contribute to meaningful, mission-focused solutions. The ideal candidate has experience with ServiceNow scripting, workflows, integrations, and module configuration and is comfortable working collaboratively with senior developers, architects, analysts, and client stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Job Functions- Develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow solutions across one or more modules, such as ITSM, ITOM, SPM, HRSD, CMDB, or custom applications.
- Translate functional and technical requirements into effective ServiceNow configurations and custom development.
- Develop and maintain ServiceNow scripts, including Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, and related platform components.
- Configure workflows, forms, fields, notifications, reports, and other ServiceNow functionality based on business requirements.
- Develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, and other integration methods.
- Collaborate with senior developers, architects, business analysts, project managers, and client stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Participate in unit testing, system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable and maintainable solutions.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and recommend improvements to existing ServiceNow functionality and processes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation related to configurations, development, integrations, and system processes.
- Follow established development standards, security requirements, and ServiceNow best practices.
- Support platform enhancements, upgrades, deployments, and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Stay current with ServiceNow platform capabilities and contribute ideas for process automation and platform improvements.
Skills and Abilities- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow development and configuration, including scripting and application customization.
- Working knowledge of one or more ServiceNow modules, such as ITSM, ITOM, SPM, HRSD, CMDB, or SecOps.
- Proficiency with ServiceNow scripting, including JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and UI Actions.
- Experience configuring workflows, forms, fields, notifications, reports, and other ServiceNow platform functionality.
- Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into practical ServiceNow solutions.
- Experience developing or supporting integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, or other integration frameworks.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working as part of a collaborative development team.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, analyze problems, and develop maintainable solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work within established development standards, security requirements, and federal client environments.
- Familiarity with federal compliance and security requirements, including FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53, is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Education & Certifications- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer preferred.
- ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
- ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certification is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
Experience- 3+ years of experience supporting the implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development of an ITSM platform.
- 2+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including scripting, configuration, customization, testing, and deployment.
- Experience developing on the ServiceNow platform, including creating and/or customizing applications and platform functionality.
- 3+ years of experience working with one or more programming or scripting languages, preferably JavaScript.
- Experience developing or supporting ServiceNow integrations using REST/SOAP APIs or similar technologies.
- Experience creating technical documentation and maintaining development and configuration documentation.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment is preferred.
- Federal government or government contracting experience is preferred.
