Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Architect to lead the design, implementation, governance, and optimization of the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Configuration Management, Discovery, Service Mapping, Common Service Data Model (CSDM), ITSM, ITOM, and enterprise architecture. This role will drive CMDB strategy, data quality, governance, and integration initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and maintain the enterprise CMDB architecture and roadmap.
• Design scalable CMDB data models aligned with business and IT requirements.
• Establish CMDB governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
• Lead CMDB transformation initiatives and modernization programs.
• Align CMDB architecture with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
• Design and implement Configuration Item (CI) class structures and relationships.
• Configure identification and reconciliation rules.
• Develop CI lifecycle management processes.
• Implement CMDB health dashboards and data quality controls.
• Ensure compliance with CMDB governance policies.
• Architect and optimize ServiceNow Discovery solutions.
• Design and implement Service Mapping for business-critical services.
• Integrate infrastructure, cloud, and application data sources into the CMDB.
• Define automated CI population and maintenance strategies.
• Architect integrations between ServiceNow and cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Integrate ServiceNow with monitoring tools, asset management systems, DevOps and CI/CD tools, and enterprise applications.
• Ensure accurate data synchronization and reconciliation across systems.
• Establish CMDB governance councils and operational processes.
• Define KPIs and metrics for CMDB health.
• Monitor and improve CMDB completeness, correctness, compliance, and relationship integrity.
• Lead data remediation and cleanup initiatives.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, IT Operations, Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams.
• Act as the CMDB subject matter expert.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to developers, administrators, and analysts.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience with ServiceNow.
• 5+ years of experience with CMDB.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, ITOM, ITSM, and CSDM.
• Experience with the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
• Experience with IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, and MID Servers.
• Experience with Cloud Discovery and Service Graph Connectors.
• Knowledge of data modeling and CMDB architecture.
• Experience with JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting.
• Experience designing integrations and ensuring accurate data synchronization across enterprise systems.
• Experience establishing CMDB governance, data quality controls, and operational processes.
Preferred Qualifications
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Discovery.
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Service Mapping.
• ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA).
• ITIL 4 Foundation or higher.
