When Tektronix launches a new oscilloscope, someone has to answer a hard question before it ships: can we service and calibrate this anywhere in the world, to standard, at a cost we planned for? That is your job.
You own service readiness end to end — the service plan, the capital behind it, the parts, documentation, training and test systems that deliver it, and the call on whether a product is ready to release. You will inherit an established portfolio of Tektronix instrument and probe programs, with the standard work, the global depot network and the relationships already in place, and the autonomy to decide how the work gets done from here.
What you will do
• Own the service plan and service model for each new product — repairable or repair-by-replacement, depot or onsite, which regions get capability and when — and defend that recommendation to leadership.
• Build the business case and secure the capital for service capability: test systems, fixtures, depot tooling and training.
• Drive global readiness. Chair checkpoint reviews with senior service managers across the Americas, EMEA and Asia, own the readiness checklist, and issue the declaration that a program is ready to launch.
• Set up what makes service work: service ERP data (items, parts, pricing, forecast), the field-replaceable unit list, service documentation, and depot and field training.
• Lead the cross-functional service core team, negotiate dates with partners who do not report to you, and escalate anything that threatens a release.
• Carry products past launch — updates, safety actions, engineering changes, obsolescence and long-term support — and use what the field tells you to make the next product easier to service.
What we are looking for
• Hands-on ownership of service outcomes for technical B2B products — a service plan, spare parts, depot capability, warranty or field support. This is the centre of the role.
• Experience in a stage-gate new product process, accountable for deliverables at a gate.
• The ability to hold partners in other functions to commitments without authority over them.
• Technical literacy to discuss serviceability with design and test engineers — able to read schematics and product specifications and reason about how a design choice plays out in a repair depot or calibration lab. Test and measurement, electronic instrumentation, calibration or metrology background is a strong advantage.
• Typically eight or more years of professional experience. We will consider strong candidates with less.
• A degree in engineering, business, supply chain or a related field — or equivalent professional or technical qualification and experience.
Nice to have
• ERP experience setting up items, parts, pricing, bills of material or forecasts (Oracle or SAP).
• Accredited calibration and traceability environments (A2LA, DAkkS, NABL or equivalent).
• Program management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, IPMA or Scrum) — Ralliant supports certification for this role.
• Experience across more than one program type: hardware, software, OEM and acquisitions.
How we work
Our five Guiding Principles shape this role: win as one team, solve problems, learn by doing, unlock growth, and own our future. In practice that means building trust across functions you do not control, getting to root cause with data and Ralliant Business System tools, adapting on live programs rather than waiting for perfect information, and owning the outcome rather than the activity.
Our team will look into this right away.
