Join Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy as a Service Operations Manager and play a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence across a portfolio of wind energy sites. In this position, you will lead site operations teams, ensure the safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities, and deliver exceptional customer service while supporting Siemens Gamesa's mission of advancing the global energy transition. The Service Operations Manager is accountable for overall site performance, including health and safety compliance, operational execution, financial performance, contract fulfillment, workforce management, and customer satisfaction. This role provides leadership for field personnel, oversees maintenance and operational planning, manages technical and commercial escalations, and drives continuous improvement initiatives designed to maximize turbine availability and operational efficiency. Working closely with customers, technicians, subcontractors, and regional support functions, the Service Operations Manager serves as the primary operational leader for assigned wind farms. Success in this role requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, technical problem-solving skills, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess experience in wind energy operations, team leadership, contract management, customer engagement, risk management, and financial oversight. They will be empowered to lead operational strategies that improve performance, support employee development, and deliver long-term value to both Siemens Gamesa and our customers. This is an onsite role that manages several windfarms in the Altoona PA area. Travel may be required outside of the area for other business needs up to 25%
How You'll Make an Impact
40% Site Operations & Safety Leadership
Implement and enforce internal and external Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards across all localized wind sites.
Manage daily site activities, resource allocation, and technician training compliance to ensure high operational readiness.
Coordinate technical troubleshooting, act as first-level customer engineering interface, and escalate complex issues to central line functions.
30% Commercial & Contract Management
Drive P&L performance for the assigned service portfolio in alignment with the Limits of Authority and established budgets.
Ensure compliance and execution of all contract terms signed between the organization and the clients.
Perform regular risk assessments, update risk & opportunities logs, and support the preparation of equipment budgets.
30% Stakeholder & Performance Management
Manage communication and reporting with wind farm owners, including delivering monthly client reports and preventive maintenance checklists.
Monitor technical KPIs, analyze repetitive faults, and implement continuous process improvement plans.
Manage sub-contractor activities, certifications, and performance to ensure alignment with project standards.
What You Bring
Valid Driver's License
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of wind industry experience, or an Associate/Trade School Degree with 5+ years of wind management experience.
Proven experience managing and directing multidisciplinary technical teams.
Physical capability to climb to heights of 250 feet or greater, work in confined spaces, and meet safety weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less.
