Full Job Description
Working in collaboration with the Chiefs of Medical Specialties, Oncology, OBGYN and Cardiology, as well as under the supervision of the SMG Vice President of Operations, the Service Line Director will provide overall leadership to and management of several critical service lines, including Dermatology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Pulmonology, Rheumatology, Weight & Wellness, Medical and Radiation Oncology, OBGYN and Cardiology. S/he will be responsible for directing the clinical, financial, and administrative functions of these services. Service Line Director will establish and maintain a favorable professional dyad relationship with the 4 Chiefs to accomplish clinical, quality, and service objectives. The Service Line Director will supervise multiple Practice Managers of the practices identified in achieving all objectives within the service line.

Working with SMG leadership, s/he will implement Lean practices throughout the service line; establish operational goals, objectives and budgets for the service line, develop and maintain Tier 2 balanced score cards, require effective daily huddles, and engage self and staff in problem solving and process improvement Responsibilities include developing optimal operating policies and procedures required to deliver quality patient care, enhance practice volumes and appropriately budget for and manage operating costs. S/he will be accountable for the financial management of the practices.

Service Line Director will directly supervise their Practice Managers and be responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, skill development, and retention of these direct reports. S/he will ensure appropriate communication to staff across practice areas and will champion process improvement (Lean) practices in accordance with SHC strategic plans.

S/he will work cooperatively with SHC system leaders, other Service Line Directors and Managers to plan for the provision of new health care services on an integrated basis with other services of Signature Healthcare and may represent Signature Healthcare and its physician practices or clinics at public and professional meetings.
The Service Line Director must establish effective strategies for programs, physician integration and resource utilizations with the goal of increasing service line growth, efficiency, and patient experience. S/he must have the ability to confidently establish relationships with providers and Physician leaders. S/he will work with the President and Vice President of Operations of SMG on the strategic growth of the above service lines and develop plans to support the growth.

Bachelor's Degree required. MBA/MHA or related Master's degree preferred.
