Seattle, WA | Fixed ops | Service Director | Service Manager | Absorption | CSI | Luxury brand | Import brand | 5+ years required | Pipeline | General application | Veterans encouraged to apply | $180,000 - $240,000+/yr
GENERAL APPLICATION: This is not a posting for a specific open position. Swickard Auto Group is building a pipeline of qualified Service Director candidates for future single-store openings. Submitting an application does not guarantee an interview or immediate consideration. Qualified candidates will be contacted individually as positions become available.
IS THIS YOU?
• You're a proven fixed ops leader with 5+ years of Service Manager or Service Director experience - you own CSI, absorption, technician development, and department financial performance, and your track record reflects it
• You lead by building the people and the processes around you, not by managing reactively - your department runs at a high standard because of the culture you built, not because you're watching every repair order
• You're open to the right opportunity in Portland, Seattle, the Bay Area, or Thousand Oaks and want Swickard to know who you are before a specific role opens
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Service Director roles across our markets are single-store fixed ops leadership positions. Responsibilities typically include:
• Own the full fixed operations department - service, parts, and body shop where applicable - as a unified P&L with full accountability for performance
• Drive CSI, absorption, effective labor rate, technician efficiency, and gross profit to targets - and hold your leadership team accountable to the same
• Develop service and parts managers - coaching fixed ops leadership rather than bypassing them, and building the bench strength that supports growth
• Partner with the General Manager and variable ops leadership to align the store's fixed ops performance with overall business objectives
• Oversee manufacturer certification compliance, warranty administration, and OEM relationship management
• Lead recruiting, retention, and development of technicians and service advisors - fixed ops talent is the foundation of sustainable absorption
• Monitor and act on key fixed ops metrics - absorption, hours per RO, effective labor rate, technician productivity, parts fill rate, and aged inventory
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 5+ years of Service Manager or Service Director experience at a franchised dealership - required
• Luxury or import brand fixed ops leadership experience strongly preferred - Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Volvo, or comparable platforms represented across our four markets
• Demonstrated absorption performance at or above 100% - you know what a self-sustaining fixed ops operation looks like and you've built one
• Strong P&L fluency - you read your department financials, you understand what drives them, and you act on them proactively
• A developer of people - your service managers, advisors, and technicians perform better because of how you lead them
• Prior DMS experience required - familiarity with platforms such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, DealerSocket, Tekion, or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
WHAT WE OFFER
• $180,000 - $240,000+/yr - range varies by store, brand, and market
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Life insurance and supplemental coverage options
• Paid time off and paid holidays
• Executive-level visibility within a 40+ rooftop organization with an active acquisition pipeline - Service Directors who perform at Swickard are the first consideration for expanded operational leadership as the organization grows
• Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts
If you're a proven fixed ops leader ready to own a single-store Service Director role in one of Swickard's key markets - and you want us to know who you are when the right store opens - apply.
