DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Associate Systems / Systems Engineer (T01/T02) on the Sentinel Payloads Modeling, Simulation and Analysis team. This position is located in
Roy, Utah and supports the
Sentinel program.
What You'll Get To Do:- Develop Payload models to simulate and evaluate hardware performance
- Perform model validation of various Payloads through test and analysis
- Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for missile system payloads
- Perform analysis to support derivation of lower level requirements
- Verify Payload specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
- Generate Threat Models
- Generate and analyze radar and optical signatures of payload objects
- Analyze exo and endo-atmospheric trajectories
- Generate discrimination algorithms
- Review test plans and support testing to ensure proper data objectives are met to validate models
- Create analysis documents, verification and validation(V&V) plans, and V&V reports
- Present analysis results to both internal and external stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:This requisition may be filled at either the Associate Systems Engineer level (T01) or Systems Engineer level (T02).
Associate Systems Engineer (T01):
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 1 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master of Science degree
Systems Engineer (T02):
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related experience; 0 years of experience with a Master of Science degree
Requirements for both levels:
- Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Experience or coursework related to electromagnetic radiation (optical, infrared, radar)
- Experience or coursework modeling systems with coding languages (Python, Matlab, C++, etc.)
- Experience or coursework related to kinematics
Preferred Qualifications- Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering
- 1 year of experience with electromagnetic radiation (optical, infrared, radar)
- 1 year of experience modeling complex physical systems with coding languages (Python, Matlab, C++, etc.)
- 1 year of experience modeling kinematics
- 1 year of experience with applications of machine learning models

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

#SentinelsystemsPrimary Level Salary Range: $65,800.00 - $98,800.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
