Senior Trust Administrator

Support the Administration of Sophisticated Fiduciary Relationships

As a Trust Administrator, you'll play an integral role in supporting the administration of complex trust relationships while delivering the exceptional service and attention to detail our clients expect.

Working alongside experienced Trust Officers, you'll help manage fiduciary relationships involving Delaware directed trusts, discretionary trusts, and entities holding closely held business interests and other unique assets. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your fiduciary expertise, build meaningful client relationships, and develop a long-term career in trust and wealth administration.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with Trust Officers to administer a portfolio of trust relationships, ensuring accounts are managed in accordance with governing documents, fiduciary standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, accountants, and other trusted advisors, delivering responsive and personalized service.
  • Support the administration of Delaware directed and discretionary trusts, including account maintenance, distributions, trust reviews, and documentation.
  • Assist with trusts holding closely held business interests and other complex assets.
  • Review and interpret trust agreements, wills, settlement agreements, modifications, and other fiduciary documents.
  • Coordinate client requests and collaborate with internal partners across investments, tax, legal, compliance, and operations to deliver seamless service.
  • Assist with new account onboarding, trust funding, beneficiary updates, fee arrangements, account coding, and account closures.
  • Monitor account activity and identify matters requiring escalation or additional review.
  • Maintain accurate account records and documentation while leveraging technology and operational resources to support efficient administration.
  • Prepare client materials, account reviews, and business presentations as needed.
  • Stay current on fiduciary regulations, trust and estate administration practices, and industry developments.

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience supporting fiduciary account administration, trust administration, estate administration, or related financial services, legal, or wealth management experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a combination of education and relevant experience, including at least 2 years supporting fiduciary or trust administration activities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven organizational and client service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.


Preferred
  • 3+ years of trust and estate administration experience.
  • Experience supporting Delaware directed trusts and discretionary trust relationships.
  • Ability to read and interpret trust agreements, wills, and other governing instruments.
  • Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation or interest in pursuing certification.
  • Understanding of fiduciary administration, distributions, trust taxation, and wealth transfer planning.
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $75,900.00 - $126,500.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
