Job Title Senior Transportation Insights Manager
Position Overview
The position focuses on ensuring our customers have an efficient, seamless, and satisfying experience throughout their delivery process whether it be on Shaw truck or outsourced carriers. You will be responsible for collaborating with Senior Leadership Team, Regional Supply Chain Directors, Regional Operations Managers, Sales, ISC Finance, ISC Engineering, Customer Care, Global Supply Chain Technology and the Transportation team in designing end-to-end transportation solutions tailored to customer needs while driving business insights for the fleet. You will identify cost savings, and shape long-term network and fleet strategy while overseeing a team of Transportation Solutions Managers and Transportation Coordinators dedicated to delivering efficient, exceptional service and support to our customer base.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to RDC leadership and cross-functional stakeholders across Transportation, Sales, ISC Finance, Customer Care, Global Supply Chain Technology, and ISC Engineering, aligning transportation strategy with enterprise priorities, operational goals, and customer-focused commitments
Support continuous improvement of final-mile delivery performance across all U.S. regions through transportation solution design, route optimization, and analytic insight, leading a team of Transportation Solutions Managers (TSMs) and influencing Transportation Coordinators (TCs) at the distribution center level
Lead, coach, and develop Transportation Solutions Managers strengthening technical transportation expertise, analytical thinking, financial acumen, and decision-making to build long-term bench strength
Partner closely with RDC Operations Managers and Regional Supply Chain Directors to translate transportation analytics into execution, driving measurable improvements in OTIF, route adherence, delivery cost per pound, asset utilization, and service reliability
Provide TSM guidance on analysis of transportation scenarios, network design, fleet sizing, and capacity tradeoffs at the RDC and sub-RDC service-area level
Establish and enforce short and long term transportation strategic plan on standards, optimization processes, and performance expectations while maintaining accountability for service performance (OTIF), cost performance, and process adherence across all regions
Drive business insights for the fleet by analyzing equipment utilization, driver productivity, idle and fuel performance, maintenance spend, and cost to serve, translating data into actionable recommendations for operations and executive leadership
Identify, quantify, and validate cost savings opportunities across owned fleet, dedicated, and outsourced carrier spend, building business cases with clear financial impact and tracking realized savings
Act as primary subject-matter expert and point of contact for Omnitracs and related transportation platforms, partnering with Global Supply Chain Technology to evaluate, test, and implement enhancements that are scalable, data driven, and operationally effective
Partner with ISC Engineering to analyze and execute network optimization initiatives, including fleet configuration, equipment refresh timing, routing logic, and service-cost tradeoffs
Inform long range equipment strategy and evaluating emerging capabilities such as telematics, automation, and AI enabled decision tools alongside utilization, routing constraints, and cost-to-serve implications through analytical modeling
Communicate complex, data-driven insights clearly to audiences ranging from frontline leaders to executive leadership, enabling confident, informed decision-making
Requirements:
Four-year degree and 5+ years of transportation/logistics experience; or High School Diploma/GED and 8+ years of transportation/logistics experience
Prior management experience or experience as Route Optimization Manager or Transportation Insights Manager
Strong analytical skills to translate large sets of data into strategic insights that drive business decisions
Experience in growing, developing, and leading a team across multiple areas of the business
Demonstrate knowledge of Shaw's products, services, and culture
Business acumen to gather and present data, specifically financial acumen
Balance agile and critical thinking
Effective communication skills, verbal and written
Capable of managing projects, creating project plans, meeting deadlines; organized with specific attention to detail

Preferred:

Working knowledge of excel and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
