Job Description:
Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team to support a large transformative transportation project.
In this role, you will help deliver the design for projects that have a construction value greater than $1 billion, and in turn, assist in enhancing the mobility, safety, and reliability for communities who live along and travel through these critical corridors.
What You'll Be Doing:
Work with a team of engineers and technicians to design and produce a variety of traffic engineering plans and reports.
Help to deliver traffic signal design, signing, striping, lighting and traffic control plans along with quantity tabulation.
Assist with analysis, design and implementation of projects such as corridor studies, traffic impact studies, alternative intersection design, and traffic operational analysis.
Provide support for other engineering activities as required. May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.
Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
Take part in Parsons’ quality management plan to implement QA/QC procedures.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
8+ years of progressive experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
MicroStation or AutoCAD proficiency is a must.
Adept understanding of methodologies of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Signal Warrant studies.
SYCHRO, HCS, VISSIM and SIDRA expertise is required.
Knowledge of roadway lighting design including photometric analysis is also highly desirable but not required.
PE registration ishighly preferred.
PTOE certification is highly preferred

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
