Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Trade Compliance Specialist leads the design, development, and execution of Parker's global trade compliance vision, strategy, and tools to support responsible international business growth. This role partners across the enterprise to strengthen compliance programs, enable efficient global trade operations, and support Parker's Win Strategy by helping the organization navigate complex regulatory requirements with confidence, consistency, and integrity.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, and implement global import and export compliance programs aligned with Parker policies and applicable regulations per the Government Practices Manual
  • Oversees transportation costs by selecting methods that balance cost, customer needs, and Parker's guidelines
  • Review customs and export declarations, supporting documentation, and trade reporting for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Apply expertise in export controls, including licensing, ITAR, OFAC, restricted party screening, sanctions, and related compliance requirements
  • Maintain accurate trade compliance records and product data to ensure shipments meet applicable import/export requirements and move efficiently across borders
  • Review trade data, duty costs, and compliance metrics to identify trends, reduce risk, improve processes, and uncover potential cost-saving opportunities
  • Conduct trade compliance audits, self-assessments, and corrective action planning to identify risks and strengthen compliance practices
  • Advise operations and business partners on trade compliance requirements, risk mitigation, transportation practices, and process improvements
  • Develop and deliver trade compliance training, workshops, and guidance to support consistent execution across the division
  • Support acquisition integration, government practices compliance, valuation reconciliation, customs bond management, and agency correspondence
  • Provide required free trade agreement documentation, customer support, and accurate reporting to service providers, suppliers, and government agencies
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant industry certification, such as Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), Certified Export Specialist (CES), or Certified Import Specialist (CIS)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade compliance, logistics, supply chain, or a related field
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to support internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across functions and levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage priorities and drive results
