Full Job Description
Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Senior Technical Procurement Specialist to join our SysTrade (trading infrastructure) procurement team. In this role, you will be the bridge between HRT's external vendors and our research, trading, and infrastructure teams. You will manage the sourcing and purchasing of high-performance hardware, software, and complex data sets, be responsible for circuit billing management and documentation, and play a key role in monitoring our paid services to ensure full utilization.

The ideal candidate for this role is an analytical and technically-minded procurement professional who combines vendor management experience, financial acumen, and the organizational rigor to optimize our end-to-end procurement process - from sourcing and purchasing to inventory tracking and asset management.

Responsibilities
  • Drive end-to-end relationships with global vendors across specialized server hardware, network gear, software, enterprise licensing, and other products. Lead high-stakes renewals and negotiations to secure competitive pricing, flexible terms, and strict SLAs
  • Architecture and execution of cross-border hardware delivery strategies. Manage global shipping logistics, customs clearance, import/export compliance (VAT, tariffs, ECCN ratings), and international depot staging across North America, EMEA, and APAC
  • Oversee global circuit inventory, co-location cross-connects, and dark fiber billing. Implement automated auditing to continuously reconcile circuit utilization against recurring spend
  • Work alongside systems and software engineers to design, test, and improve internal workflows, building automated tools for asset tracking, procurement ticketing and inventory forecasting
  • Act as a central, proactive communicator translating complex technical requirements from engineering teams into actionable commercial orders and deliveries

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 4-7+ years in enterprise technology procurement, IT operations, or technical supply chain coordination, ideally within high-performance computing, fintech, telecommunications, or trading environments
  • Proven track record managing complex international supply chains, customs brokers, and cross-border hardware logistics
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, switches, FPGAs, optical networking, data center equipment) and software licensing models
  • Advanced experience working with large data sets using SQL, Python, or advanced Excel. Hands-on experience with modern ERP platforms (Workday, SAP, or NetSuite) and ticketing/workflow systems (Jira, ServiceNow)
  • You bring hands-on experience in technology procurement, vendor negotiations, and inventory management, and you've thrived in environments where speed and precision are non-negotiable
  • Kindness and empathy are real requirements - no "smart jerks" at HRT
  • Highly autonomous with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" mentality. You're naturally curious about how things work - whether it's a vendor's API, an ERP workflow, or a data pipeline - and you're eager to get your hands dirty building better solutions rather than waiting for someone else to do it

The estimated base salary range for this position is 150,000 to 200,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
