Moore Colson is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our growing Tax practice in Atlanta. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced public accounting professional to lead complex, meaningful tax engagements while continuing to build a long-term career within an independent firm.
As a Senior Manager within our Tax team, you will lead key client relationships, oversee complex tax engagements, provide strategic tax guidance, and play an important role in developing our people and growing the practice. You will work closely with clients, partners, and firm leadership in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment that values initiative, professional growth, and exceptional client service.
Responsibilities:- Lead complex federal, state, and local tax engagements for businesses and individuals
- Review complex income tax returns and ensure technical accuracy, quality, and compliance
- Provide clients with proactive tax consulting, planning, and projection services
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and build strong, long-term relationships
- Research and resolve complex tax matters while providing clear, practical recommendations
- Oversee engagement planning, staffing, budgets, deadlines, and overall execution
- Communicate tax strategies, technical conclusions, and engagement updates to clients and internal stakeholders
- Identify client needs and collaborate with partners and other practice areas to provide additional value
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members
- Provide timely, constructive feedback and support team members in reaching their professional goals
- Participate in business development, networking, and client relationship activities
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Tax practice
What You Will Do:- Active CPA license required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred
- 6-8 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
- Experience reviewing complex business and individual income tax returns
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Exceptional Excel skills
- Proficiency with tax automation/workflow software is a plus
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong client service mindset and consultative approach
- Self-directed and ambitious
