Responsibilities

  • Prepare assigned tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profits, focusing on real estate clients
  • Prepare amended returns, personal tax projections, property tax refunds, employee benefit plan returns, and payroll tax returns
  • Perform detailed numerical analysis and maintain financial records for assigned clients
  • Develop expertise in tax software and internal procedures within the real estate sector
  • Build relationships with clients and work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Handle confidential client matters with discretion
  • Assist in tax research and support department staff and partners as needed
  • Anticipate and resolve tax issues while making recommendations
  • Participate in developing team members and engaging in business development activities

Full Job Description
As a Senior Tax Associate focused on our real estate clients, you'll partner with real estate owners, investors, developers, and businesses to deliver exceptional tax compliance and advisory services. This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful client relationships, solve complex tax challenges, and grow your expertise within one of Abdo's key industry practices.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Prepare assigned tax returns including individual, corporate, partnership and/or non-profit returns, with an emphasis on real estate clients
  • Prepare assigned basic amended returns, personal tax projections, property tax refunds, employee benefit plan returns, carryback returns, sales tax, 1099 statements and/or payroll tax returns
  • Perform analytical and detailed work with numerical data efficiently and accurately; Compile and maintain financial data and records for assigned clients
  • Utilize and develop a functional understanding of various tax programs, tax and research software, and internal work flow/procedures; build expertise within real estate segment
  • Build strong relationships with clients and collaborate with colleagues to deliver exceptional service
  • Exercise discretion and judgment when working with confidential client matters
  • Provide assistance including tax research to department staff and partners as needed
  • Recognize, anticipate, and resolve tax issues; make recommendations
  • Develop team members and participate in business development activities
  • Actively utilize firm-approved technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work while exercising appropriate professional judgment and maintaining compliance with firm policies, confidentiality standards, and professional regulations


Ideal Senior Associate candidate has:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 3+ years of experience in practice area with at least one year working with complex engagements

Additional Information:
At Abdo, we are committed to providing fair, transparent, and competitive compensation that reflects the unique skills and experiences of each candidate. The estimated base pay range for this role is $75,000 - $100,500. Offers are typically made below the maximum to allow room for future compensation increases in the role. The compensation offer will be based on factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications, skills, and business needs.

All employees have the opportunity to earn discretionary bonuses based on demonstration of extraordinary performance, special projects of significant importance, or other major accomplishments.
