About The RoleFacet is seeking an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to step into a high-touch, member-facing role as a Senior Tax Associate. In this consultative position, you will be on the frontline, leading weekly virtual tax strategy sessions directly with Facet members. You will translate complex tax laws into actionable, high-impact strategies without ever filing a tax return. Partnering closely with our CFP® Lead Planners, you will apply Facet's modern tax planning framework to empower members to make confident, tax-optimized life decisions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Direct Member Consultations: Lead 10-15 virtual strategy sessions per week, delivering tailored tax advice, answering complex real-time questions, and guiding members through high-stakes financial decisions.
- Continuous Member Engagement: Serve as the primary tax sounding board for members by delivering clear, plain-English answers to day-to-day inbound questions via our secure messaging platform (covering withholdings, life events, IRS notices, and tax projections).
- Proactive Tax Plan Diagnostic: Review member tax returns (Form 1040s and schedules) to diagnose multi-year optimization opportunities, including Roth conversions, equity vesting events, real estate transactions, and executive compensation.
- Custom Modeling & Scenario Analysis: Build, model, and present customized tax strategies using modern planning tools-focusing on bracket management, withholding adjustments, and estimated tax schedules.
- Technical Research & Analysis: Perform deep-dive research into complex federal and multi-state tax scenarios to architect compliant, creative strategies across diverse household profiles.
- Planner Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with our Lead Planners and Director of Specialized Advice to integrate tax optimization seamlessly into overall holistic financial plans.
Commonly Advised Strategies & Domains- Roth Conversion & Income Optimization: Evaluating income streams for multi-year Roth conversion strategies while managing downstream impacts on IRMAA brackets, ACA subsidies, and Social Security taxation.
- Real Estate & Rental Assets: Advising on cost recovery, depreciation, Passive Activity Loss (PAL) rules, short-term rental strategies, and Section 1031 exchanges.
- Charitable Giving Strategies: Structuring high-impact options, including Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs), Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), and appreciated stock gifting.
- Small Business & Entity Structuring: Advising business owners on entity selection (Sole Prop, S-Corp, LLC), Section 199A QBI optimization, pass-through taxation, and exit planning.
- Equity Compensation: Navigating tax impacts of ISOs, NSOs, RSUs, and ESPPs, including Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) strategies and liquidity event planning.
Requirements- Active Credential:Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
- Relevant Experience: 5-7+ years of professional experience specializing in personal tax planning, private client tax advisory, high-net-worth tax consulting, or wealth management.
- Member-Facing Excellence: Demonstrated history of managing a regular client meeting cadence (e.g., 10-15 client consultations weekly) with exceptional empathy, active listening, and strong presentation skills over video.
- Diagnostic Expertise: Expert ability to analyze Form 1040s and supporting schedules rapidly to spot tax inefficiencies, missed opportunities, and exposure risks.
- Deep Technical Knowledge: Strong expertise in individual federal and state tax codes, pass-through entities, retirement distribution strategies, and executive compensation planning.
- Fiduciary Ethos: Uncompromising integrity and a dedication to delivering objective, member-first advice.
Preferred Qualifications:- Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation or active pursuit of the credential.
- Prior experience delivering advisory services within a fee-only RIA, multi-family office, or wealth management firm alongside CFP® professionals.
- High proficiency with modern tax modeling tools (Holistiplan, BNA, Corvee) and CRM/digital workflow tools.
Benefits- $110,000 - $150,000 base salary: Determined by experience, knowledge, and skills.
