Job Description: Senior Tax AssociateAbout the TeamThe North America Tax team supports tax reporting, planning, and compliance across the U.S., Canada, and Bermuda. The team partners with Finance, Legal, HR, Underwriting, Operations, and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting and strong governance. The Senior Tax Associate plays a key role in delivering timely and reliable tax outcomes.
How does this role contribute to our collective success?This role strengthens AXIS' global tax function by supporting accurate tax reporting, maintaining compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and improving processes that support financial integrity. The Senior Tax Associate helps ensure AXIS meets regulatory requirements while supporting business decisions with clear and reliable tax insights.
What will you be doing in this role?- Supporting day-to-day tax activities for the U.S., Canada, and Bermuda
- Assisting with quarterly GAAP and STAT tax provisions under ASC 740 and SSAP 101
- Partnering with international tax teams to align global provisions with U.S. GAAP
- Helping consolidate global tax calculations for management reporting
- Supporting internal and external reporting, including Board materials and annual tax footnotes
- Coordinating compliance activities across U.S., Canadian, and Bermuda tax regimes
- Supporting withholding tax documentation, including residency certificates and FATCA
- Performing tax research to interpret authoritative guidance
- Responding to audits and notices across multiple jurisdictions
- Maintaining accurate process documentation and contributing to internal training

What we're looking for from you:- Possess a CPA or Tax LLM
- Bring at least three years of tax experience in public accounting or a multinational company with extensive experience with ASC 740, account reconciliation, tax compliance and return-to-provision analysis
- Demonstrate strong technical tax knowledge across U.S. federal, state, and indirect taxes
- Demonstrate familiarity with BEAT, Pillar II and other international tax concepts
- Apply knowledge of SOX 404 requirements
- Use advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Communicate clearly and build strong relationships across teams
- Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Show strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Role factors:In this role, you will typically be required to:
- Be in the office 3 days per week
- Travel within the U.S. and internationally as needed

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $90,000 to $110,000. Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.
In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.
