About the Role
This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of tax credit qualification, structuring, monetization, due diligence, valuation, compliance and documentation review of U.S. renewable energy tax equity and tax credit transfer transactions, as well as tax-credit related considerations arising during the development, acquisition, construction, financing and disposition of renewable energy projects. The role will serve as the subject matter expert for tax credit incentives and will work closely with Legal, Procurement, Asset Management, Corporate Tax, Project Finance, Financial Modelling, Accounting and external advisors across the portfolio's solar, wind and storage assets to support projects from early-stage development and tax credit monetization planning through tax credit bridge financing, tax equity financings, and tax credit transfers.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead analysis of eligibility for federal renewable energy tax incentives, including IRC Sections 48 and 48E Investment Tax Credit (ITC)
· Monitor and manage the ITC claim process under IRC Section 48/48E across the asset portfolio — including standalone energy storage (BESS) property.
· Support project development, project management and financing teams in evaluating tax considerations impacting project economics and investment decisions.
· Conduct due diligence for M&A opportunities from a tax credit eligibility perspective, including beginning of construction and continuity safe harbor analyses under applicable IRS guidance.

· Documentation review: Review, validate and maintain the supporting documentation required by TEIs, transferees and the IRS — cost segregation reports, independent fair market value appraisals, and base case models.
· Ongoing obligations: Track compliance with reporting covenants, consents and approvals under Equity Capital Contribution Agreements, Tax Equity Partnership LLC Agreements and Tax Credit Transfer Agreements (TCTAs), including placed in service analyses and recapture-risk monitoring over the applicable 5-year recapture period.
· Regulatory monitoring: Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship requirements, Domestic Content requirements, FEOC/PFE compliance requirements, track IRS pre-filing registration requirements and reporting deadlines applicable to transferred credits, flagging risks to credit eligibility early.
· Counterparty relationship management: Act as the day-to-day point of contact with TEIs, transferees, outside counsel and accountants for documentation requests, confirmations and resolution of open items.
· Reporting: Prepare periodic status reporting to senior management on the health of the tax equity and tax credit transfer portfolio. Monitor IRS guidance, Treasury regulations and market developments affecting renewable energy tax incentives.
