ABOUT THE TEAMAnduril's Maritime Division is transforming American sea power to meet the defining national security challenges of our era and secure our future of maritime dominance.
We are scaling at an historic pace, anchored by Arsenal-2, our new software-defined shipyard being built in Baltimore County, Maryland. It's part of a new $6.6 billion investment in America's submarine industrial base.
Arsenal-2 is purpose-built to break long-standing industrial bottlenecks and scale production of critical components for the Navy's Virginia-class attack submarines to support fleet requirements. At the same time, it will build the industrial muscle to field our next-generation AUVs at scale.
We aren't waiting for the new shipyard to be completed. The work on this transformation starts right now, with development inside our new 160,000 square foot Proto-Factory in Orange County, California, where the team is already laying the foundation. As the prototyping hub for Arsenal-2, this facility gives us a multi-year head start, proving out the advanced manufacturing methods, digital workflows, and quality systems that will scale across our broader shipyard network.
In Anduril's Maritime Division, we are actively building America's next decisive advantage at sea, and this is the moment to join us.
ABOUT THE JOBYou will own the requirements verification traceability matrix for a maritime autonomous vehicle: the thread that runs from a program requirement, through subsystem allocation, to the specific test or analysis that proves it was met. Reporting to the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test Lead, you keep that thread intact while the design underneath it keeps changing.
By the time this role starts, the requirements baseline and the test campaign will both be in motion. The gap this fills is between them. When a requirement changes, someone has to know which verification items just became invalid; when a test closes, someone has to confirm it actually closed what it claimed. That is this seat.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Own the requirements verification traceability matrix end to end
- Maintain allocation from program requirements through subsystem specifications
- Define verification method for each requirement: test, analysis, inspection, or demonstration
- Track verification status and report closure against program milestones
- Run change impact analysis when requirements or interfaces move
- Write and review requirements for testability, not just correctness
- Work with the MBSE engineer so traceability lives in the model rather than beside it
- Work with the T&E Lead so test evidence maps cleanly to verification items
- Prepare verification artifacts for design reviews and customer milestones
- Travel up to 15% to test sites and operational locations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- 7+ years in systems engineering with direct ownership of requirements or verification traceability
- Experience with requirements management tooling (DOORS, Jama, Polarion, or equivalent)
- Experience building or maintaining a verification matrix on a hardware program
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with AUV, UUV, submarine, spacecraft, or aircraft programs
- Experience with MBSE and SysML, particularly requirements traceability inside a model
- Experience supporting formal verification reviews or customer milestone deliveries
- Scripting for traceability reporting and data extraction (Python, SQL)
- Experience on a program where the requirements baseline was still being written
