JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview:
The Fortinet Federal Sales Organization is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to work closely with sales managers to supportthe DoW. The Systems Engineer's main mission will be to support the sales organization in all technical matters regarding pre-sales, sales calls, and post-sales technical follow-up. We are seeking a senior level, self-starter with extensive pre-sales experience, polished presentation skills, and able to negotiate large complex sales cycles. Ideally the candidate will have knowledge ofFortinet products, familiarity with the US Federal Market (DoW specifically), and the current priorities, drivers, certifications, policies, and procedures that guide the use of Security and Networking components within this vertical.

Networking / Security Skills
- 7+ years9 experience in LAN/WAN/Internet services administration and network security.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP (v4 and v6).
- Expert knowledge of the following technologies: Routing, Switching, MPLS, VPN, and SDWAN in Tactical, Enterprise and/orMSSP environments.
- Experience with dynamic routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, ISIS.
- Knowledge of the following technologies: ADVPN, Wired/Wireless LAN, WAN, IPS, DLP, Antivirus, Web Filtering and NAC.
- Strong understanding in the following technologies and protocols: RADIUS, LDAP, SAML, PKI, IPSEC/ESP, Firewall, Deep Packet Inspection, 802.1X, 802.1Q, SSH, SSL/TLS Decryption, Syslog, Encryption Ciphers.
Virtualization
- Understanding and knowledge of complex hypervisors environments: KVM, ESXi, HyperV, and OpenStack.
- Understanding and knowledge of Public/Private Cloud Native Architectures utilizing containers, microservices, Docker, K8S.
General
- 10+ years9 experience in pre-sales support as a sales or systems engineer. Preferably knowledge of Federal customers and ability to work complex, long-term sale engagements in a technical role.
- Knowledge of Federal compliance requirements to include, but not limited to Zero Trust, FIPS 140-3/203/204/205, TIC 3.0, CDM, DoD STIGs, CSfC, CMMC, and NIST 800-53/171/207.
- Knowledge of competitive network and security products a plus.
- Expert communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Past or Current Clearance Desired, must be clearance eligible.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Experience developing and utilizing TCL, Perl, Python, and other programming/scripting languages.
- Expertise with Linux and various Linux/Unix scripting languages.
- DEVOPS experience with APIs, YAML, JSON, NETCONF, OpenConfig, Ansible, Terraform.
Education:
- Bachelor9s Degree orequivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering. Graduate degree preferred.
- Training and certifications within the network security field.
- NSE, JNCIE, CCIE, CISSP level certifications preferred.
