Full Job Description
Summary:

PSI has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer supporting new aircraft subsystems and energy power generation systems. Driven by rapid growth and upcoming program milestones for major commercial and next-generation aerospace customers, we are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership for multidisciplinary hardware systems. In this role, you will lead and contribute to multidisciplinary engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept definition and system analysis through detailed design, development, qualification testing, fielding, sustainment, and customer support. Your team will be responsible for system analysis, trade studies, design integration, design reviews, testing, and operational support. You will provide technical leadership across major aircraft subsystems (e.g., environmental, propulsion, engine controls) and/or major energy power generation systems (e.g., fuel delivery, combustion, heat exchangers, cooling systems).

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of technical analyses, system-level trade studies, resolve integration issues, and support testing during design and development of aircraft and/or energy power generation systems.
  • Coordinate technical activities with multidisciplinary engineering teams, Program Management, Systems Engineering, Chief Engineering, and customer organizations.
  • Develop and review detailed performance evaluations using engineering analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Ansys, NX, ASPEN, CHEMCAD or similar platforms).
  • Own the end-to-end interface definition and tracking of Interface Control Documents (ICDs). Resolve conflicts, facilitate timely resolution and approvals to support program goals.
  • Manage system level requirements by ensuring program level documents are flowed down to respective component groups, track compliance, and report summary status to management.
  • Lead Root-Cause & Risk Management activities in support of engineering design changes and technical solutions. Coordinate and review component group risk mitigation plans.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of system technical results through reports, design reviews, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders. Define review criteria, drive technical alignment across disciplines, and ensure engineering readiness for formal program milestones.
  • Perform end-to-end system analyses to validate and verify that components and integrated architectures meet performance specs, while actively supporting sustainment through root-cause failure analysis and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Develop, implement and maintain process guidance for the program that ensures systems engineering can be executed consistently across design engineering teams and commodities.
  • Perform and document system analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Mentors less experienced engineers.

Requirements (Education & Experience):
Required:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Experience with integrating Aircraft Systems Architectures, Energy power generation systems or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements engineering, including decomposition, allocation, traceability, and management.
  • Proven experience leading the execution of system verification and validation plans, including test plan generation, test execution, and anomaly resolution.
  • Experience performing system analysis, technical trade studies, design integration, testing, verification, or troubleshooting of complex aircraft, engine or energy systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams of engineers in resolution of technical issues.
  • Strong technical communication skills with a proven ability to synthesize complex data for executive briefings, hold technical meetings, and drive alignment across cross-functional departments.
  • Proficiency using engineering and analysis tools such as MATLAB, Ansys, NX, ASPEN, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

Preferred:
  • Experience navigating aerospace compliance frameworks and safety standards.
  • Experience with Risk Management and Safety Assurance.
  • Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, engineering specifications, and communications protocols.
  • Direct design experience with liquid fuel delivery, thermal management loops, or high-temperature heat exchangers.
