Senior Surveyor | Denver, CO
IMEG is hiring a Senior Civil Surveyor in Denver, Colorado. This role provides leadership in the daily operations of survey activities, including construction layout, boundary, topographic,and asbuilt surveys. It also performs production surveying duties while applying diversified knowledge of principles and practices in land surveying related fields under the leadership of a Senior Land Surveyor.
The role also supports calculations, surveying judgment, proposals, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, quality control, and mentoring junior staff while building productive relationships with clients and coworkers. Working with a team focused on municipal and transportation projects, this position helps support Colorado communities through resilient, environmentally responsible infrastructure.

What You'll Do
Perform complex survey work for construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as built surveys.
Research historic maps, land records,previoussurveys, and land title reports.
Complete boundary reductions, boundarydeterminations, andmapping and topographic field reductions in CAD and survey software.
Maintain and verify project survey data accuracy and manage the company standards survey database.
Review survey production, final products, processed data collection, and field notes for quality control.
Prepare survey computations, staking and control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects.
Operate andassistwith GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors, and other survey equipment.
Supervise CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing the surveys performed.
Build productive working relationships with clients and coworkers.
Prepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets, and mentor andassistin training junior staff members.
Operate a company vehicle.
Observe safety and security procedures.
What You'll Bring
Required
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science (BS) or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
8 years of experience minimumrequired, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred
Land Surveyor (LS) Licenserequired
Required Skills/Abilities
Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations,principlesand practices
Proficiencyin reading and interpreting engineering plans and construction documents
Knowledge and ability to effectively deal with public and governmental agencies, manage field crews, and schedule equipment and supplies
Proficient in on-site office operation, office workflowprocessesand problem-solving techniques
Advanced understanding of office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques
Advanced understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems
Proficient with AutoCAD C3D, survey, GPS, MS Office software
Advanced problem-solving techniques
Proven people management and leadership capabilities
Possesses oral and written communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG
Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
About the Team
Municipal-heavy civil team serving Colorado's Front Range from Greenwood Village and Breckenridge
On-call engineering, development and plan review, and public-works support for Colorado cities and districts
Water/wastewater, stormwater, GIS, street design, and traffic-signal work
Strong relationships with Front Range municipalities and metro districts
Recent work includes Town of Morrison On-Call Engineering, Government; City of Golden Streets & Utilities, Government; and Castle Pines Metro District Water & Tank, Water/Wastewater.
State of Colorado Salary Range: $86,000.00-$90,000.00
Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
