Job Type
Full-time
Description
- Work on energy engineering projects from prospect generation through development resulting in economic discoveries and development across both conventional and unconventional resource plays.
- Utilize broad reservoir experience and engineering methods to analyze data and integrate into the team's understanding to inform decision making and appropriate reservoir management.
- Conduct reservoir engineering analysis and characterization to produce an integrated subsurface interpretation supporting asset development and acquisition decisions.
- Collaborate with geology, drilling, completions, and facilities to optimize well design and maximize value.
- Evaluate economic models and profitability of asset development, A&D, and annual planning.
- Drive initial flowback strategy and well surveillance to drive performance evaluation and ensure maximum productivity is achieved. Manage asset wedge performance through production forecasting and economic evaluation.
- Conduct post-well lookbacks in conjunction with cross-functional teams to interrogate well performance and capture learnings for implementation in future asset development.
- Develop/coordinate and integrate in-house and third-party studies; reservoir simulation, multivariate analysis, offset pressure monitoring/interference testing, rock and fluid analysis, into comprehensive subsurface understanding and reservoir characterization.
- Assist in tool development with data engineering team (well KPI dashboard, flowback monitoring, parent/child/depletion screening, competitor surveillance).
- Support year end reserve analysis efforts and convey technical findings through oral presentations and written reports.
Technical Environment:
- Multi-disciplinary reservoir characterization of unconventional reservoirs; oil and gas field development planning, reservoir management, and production forecasting;
- Hydrocarbon resource evaluation and reporting according to corporate and regulatory standards;
- Petroleum economic evaluation, risk analysis and decision modeling; advanced working knowledge of upstream oil industry software (Whitson, ComboCurve, Eclipse, Enverus, or related);
- Experience with communicating and working with senior leadership;
- Well inventory and hydraulic fracturing design and planning; advanced knowledge of hydrocarbon fluid properties analysis; competitor activity monitoring and evaluation.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field plus 15 years of experience exploring for and developing oil and gas assets in a variety of North American tight and unconventional plays required. (Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field plus 18 years of progressive experience exploring for and developing oil and gas assets in a variety of North American tight and unconventional plays also acceptable).
- Required/Specific Skills: Multi-disciplinary reservoir characterization of unconventional reservoirs;
- Oil and gas field development planning, reservoir management, and production forecasting; Hydrocarbon resource evaluation and reporting according to corporate and regulatory standards;
