DescriptionResponsible for the accomplishment of audits and / or investigations on behalf of United in direct support of the Code of Federal Regulations Title 14, Part 121.373 (Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System), and the applicable United and supporting regulatory requirements. Performs on-site and external compliance audits, approvals, and/or surveillance activities associated with the methods, practices, and procedures utilized within Technical Operations and external support agencies. Perform risk assessments, generate audit reports, monitor corrective actions, and follow-up as necessary to ensure program compliance and that acceptable quality levels are maintained. Support United continuous improvement initiatives by conducting assessments for operational compliance and performance to applicable regulations, company policies and procedures primarily encompassing engineering, inspection, maintenance, aircraft records, part procurement and manufacturing, fueling, and other technical programs. Participates in other duties as assigned by the Sr. Manager or Director of Quality Assurance.
- Responsible for the Surveillance Requirements of the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System per applicable UA and regulatory requirements
- Conduct investigations through interviews, data analysis, evidence collection and factual documentation
- Document and report findings, and ensure corrective actions are initiated.
- Integrate SMS principles into surveillance activities including identification of hazards of high safety and regulatory compliance risks
- Validate root causes, corrective and preventive actions
- Collaborate with relevant organizations to finalize audit conclusions, secure commitments and create final investigation report
- Provide regulatory guidance and support CASS Review Board (CRB) on technical matters
- Actively participate in industry or regulatory meetings as the designated company representative, and maintains liaison with the FAA or other regulatory agencies in routine matters
- Interface with senior management through reports, presentations and constructive feedback.
This opportunity is 100% remote with 50% travel.Qualifications What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):- Bachelor's degree in aviation, engineering, technology or related work or military experience
- Two years' experience in aviation, preferably in aircraft maintenance inspection, engineering, and/or quality assurance
- Working knowledge of pertinent Code of Federal Regulations and Company Manuals / Requirements
- Familiar with engineering documents, drawings, AMM's, IPCs, and WDMs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and demonstrated experience learning Company-specific platforms
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):- American Society of Quality or Six Sigma Green Belt certification; FAA Airframe or Powerplant License
- Three years' experience in aviation, preferably in aircraft maintenance inspection, engineering, and/or quality assurance; experience in engineering and/or quality assurance auditing and risk assessment skills; experience writing policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of data analysis and visualization software (i.e., Palantir, Spotfire, and/or SQL)
- Knowledge of process mapping, measurement and improvement techniques
