About The Role:

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will utilize your technical expertise to solve intricate engineering challenges, while also providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

Your role will involve contributing to and leading complex transmission line projects, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and innovation throughout the project lifecycle.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead and execute transmission line projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations, including pole design, foundation design, and clearance evaluation
  • Prepare and review construction packages, technical reports, material specifications, constructability evaluations and permitting
  • Identify and address complex engineering challenges, providing innovative and effective solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Conduct detailed technical design reviews, offer constructive feedback, and assist team members in their professional and technical development
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to understand project requirements and address technical concerns
  • Participate in technical meetings and provide input on engineering solutions
  • Stay aware of emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve transmission line design and processes
  • Ensure all engineering work complies with Pickett safety standards, quality guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure effective communication with all parties involved


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification (required)
  • 12+ years of related transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry (required)
  • Extensive experience using PLS-CADD (required)
  • Vast experience with design codes and standards such as: NESC, IEEE, ASCE and ACI
  • Experience liaising with substation, environmental, real estate, construction, and maintenance stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of industry standards and methods (engineering, procurement, and construction)
  • Strong project management skills and experience
