Job Description:
L3Harris has an immediate opening for a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team and make a meaningful impact for our customers. In this role, you will lead electronics design efforts utilizing industry-standard electrical design and analysis tools, including schematic capture, functional and block diagram generation, and electrical wiring diagrams - spanning digital, power, analog, and mixed-signal designs. You will work closely with a collaborative Integrated Product Team (IPT), partnering alongside Systems, Mechanical, Software, Firmware, and Electrical Engineers, as well as Technicians, to deliver innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to manage project costs and schedules while meeting critical milestones, and will serve as a key contributor during Customer reviews. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting our Precision Electronic Warfare business at our State College, PA facility.

Essential Functions:
• Knowledge of electronic design and simulation tools such as Xpedition, Altium, OrCAD, Spice, and Mentor Graphics tools.
• Create design review packages and present circuit designs at peer reviews. This includes analysis, performance budgets, and test data that demonstrate how the design will meet functional requirements.
• Create test plans and test procedures to validate that circuit implementation meets functional requirements.
• Readily translate system-level requirements into detailed implementation level block diagrams.
• Lead bench-level system integration with hardware, microcontroller, FPGA, and software designs.
• Work with our Operations team to transition test and integration of new electronic hardware to the production phase.
• Support the planning and execution of project plans and design reviews; involvement in production release of modified or new product documentation.
• Demonstrate mastery of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
• Review product specifications; generate system and module-level block diagrams, flow diagrams, and design concepts.
• Generate trade studies with analysis of cost and schedule impacts on short turnaround efforts.
• Support proposal efforts and early stages of the program to define detailed system requirements.
• Design, build, and test of digital and mixed signal circuit boards.
• Experience with board design using microcontrollers.
• Experience with microcontroller programming and debugging in embedded C.
• Experience with Python and other scripting tools for verification of hardware I/O.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, RS-485, I2C, and other electronic communication protocols.
• Knowledge of Linux operating system and familiarity with command line execution.
• Ability and desire to own development through all phases of the product lifecycle.
• Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:
• Active DOD Secret, TS, or TS/SCI clearance.
• Unique ability to combine electonic warfare system knowledge with digital, analog, and RF design.
• Thorough understanding of version control best practices and tools (e.g., Oracle Agile Product Lifecycle Management).
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to work and communicate effectively within a development group.
• Experience with preparing presentation materials.
• Willingness to travel occasionally in support of program activities.
• 4+ years of experience in digital electronics technology, parts availability, and design architecture.
• 4+ years of design experience through the development cycle completing with integration and test of circuit designs.
