As a Senior Solutions Architect on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Strategic Digital Native team, you will work directly with these high-growth customers - companies building products used by millions of end users - as they adopt generative AI and emerging technologies to drive transformational business outcomes. You will design production-grade architectures, guide technology strategy, and help customers benchmark and evaluate solutions for use cases that deliver real ROI. The team is focused right now on transforming how customers apply generative AI to reduce costs, accelerate product development, and unlock new revenue streams, making this a high-impact moment to shape how Digital Natives build on AWS.
Key job responsibilities
- Design end-to-end cloud architectures for strategic Digital Native customers, incorporating generative AI capabilities, modern data patterns, and AWS managed services to solve complex business problems.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior customer stakeholders, leading in-depth architecture discussions and influencing their longer-term technology strategy with pragmatic, well-considered recommendations.
- Collaborate with AWS engineering and product teams to channel customer feedback into future service improvements, and co-design features that address real-world customer needs.
- Develop and deliver technical thought leadership content such as reference architectures, workshops, proof-of-concept builds, blog posts, and open-source contributions that accelerate customer adoption of AWS services.
- Research emerging technologies across domains like generative AI, data, developer productivity, and ML frameworks, then translate findings into actionable guidance that helps customers adopt the right services for measurable business value.
A day in the life
You might start your morning reviewing an architecture proposal for a customer migrating their recommendation engine to a generative AI-powered pipeline, then jump into a design session with the customer's engineering leads to walk through trade-offs around latency, cost, and scalability. After lunch you could pair with an AWS service team to prototype a new integration pattern a customer requested, followed by drafting a reference architecture that other Solutions Architects can reuse. Throughout, you stay connected to your account team - syncing with sales and support partners to keep delivery on track and ensure the customer's priorities stay front and center.

We partner closely with AWS engineering and product teams, channeling customer feedback directly into future service releases and co-designing features alongside customers. We also work with our Support organization to ensure production workloads are resilient and that new deployments meet the operational bar for reliable, scalable systems.

Solutions Architects on this team turn their hands-on research into industry thought leadership - speaking at conferences like re:Invent, leading community groups, publishing AWS blogs, and contributing code to aws-samples on GitHub. You choose the emerging domains you want to go deep in, and you chart your own path whether that means deepening your technical expertise or expanding your impact across AWS and the broader industry.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 4+ years of working with AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Agentic AI
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
