Senior Software Manager - DCIM Platform, you will lead the architecture, development, and delivery of Digital Realty's next-generation Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platform. This platform powers the monitoring, control, and optimization of critical infrastructure across our global data center footprint.
In this role, you will define the technical vision for a secure, highly scalable, cloud-native platform built on Microsoft Azure. You will lead global engineering teams and collaborate with Product Management, Infrastructure, Security, and executive stakeholders to deliver reliable, real-time operational insights that support Digital Realty's worldwide operations.
What You'll Do- Lead and manage global software engineering teams consisting of employees, contingent workers, and vendor partners.
- Drive the architecture and delivery of a secure, cloud-native DCIM platform leveraging Microsoft Azure.
- Own hiring strategy, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and career development.
- Deliver multiple product and platform initiatives while ensuring predictable execution against strategic roadmaps.
- Champion Agile development practices including Scrum, Kanban, sprint planning, and continuous improvement.
- Architect highly available, low-latency distributed systems supporting real-time monitoring and control at global scale.
- Design and implement large-scale IoT and telemetry solutions utilizing Azure IoT Hub, IoT Edge, Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, Azure Data Explorer, and Azure Storage.
- Build secure edge-to-cloud solutions utilizing industrial IoT protocols including MQTT, Modbus, and related technologies.
- Establish platform observability, monitoring, diagnostics, automation, and operational excellence through DevOps best practices.
- Lead architectural governance, technology standards, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Partner with Product, Security, Compliance, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Communicate technical strategy, progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.
- Establish and monitor platform KPIs, service-level objectives, reliability metrics, and incident response processes.
- Manage vendor relationships, tooling decisions, and team budgets where applicable.
What You'll Need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of experience leading global software engineering teams across employees, contractors, and vendor partners.
- 10-15 years of experience designing and delivering large-scale, cloud-native, distributed platforms.
- Deep expertise with Microsoft Azure cloud architecture and services.
- Strong background in distributed systems, microservices, and modern software architecture patterns.
- Experience developing industrial IoT, telemetry, and edge-to-cloud solutions.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, or similar technologies.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and related cloud-native platforms.
- Strong programming experience in C#, Java, or similar enterprise technologies.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to align technology strategy with business objectives and product vision.
Compensation Range$155,000 - $175,000 annually. This compensation range represents the Company's good faith belief as to what it will pay as a base salary for this position at the time of this posting.
