The mission of the software team in Huntsville, AL is to provide world-class software for our customers. We are looking to add software engineers to our development teams for a wide array of products including Battle Management, Command & Control, Communications, Effectors, Advanced Sensor Systems, and Surveillance and Warning systems.

What You Will Do:
Participate in collaborative, cross-discipline integrated product teams, employ agile software development techniques and resources to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications
Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in modern languages, Artificial Intelligence (AI), DevSecOps, and other methodologies and technologies, especially in relation to complex systems
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related degree
Minimum of five (5) or more years of relevant professional software programming experience in software development, integration, and/or test using C++, Java, Ada or similar software object-oriented language
Qualifications We Prefer:
Proven self-motivated problem solver who can look at a situation, identify gaps or issues, and take initiative to resolve them (technically, with process, and with documentation)Desire and ability to learn new technologies and tools
Experience developing software using Agile techniques such as Scrum, Scrum @ Scale, SAFe, Test-Driven Development
Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems
Experience working with Continuous Integration/Development & Integrated development tools such as Azure, Git, Atlassian Suite, Eclipse, and Ansible
Familiarity with leading a small team (e.g., estimating effort, decomposing tasks, tracking and reporting progress).
Experience with multi-threading, memory management, and performance optimization in complex environments
Experience with Shell Scripting (tcsh, csh, bash), software development tools like Git/Clearcase, and software debuggers
Experience in embedded systems, real-time systems, or large-scale applications
Experience with Network Communication Protocols and using embedded Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), such as VxWorks and Integrity.
Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate27s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
